Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Reality (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)! (1) What is the concrete reality? (2) And what would make you realize what the sure calamity is! (3) The tribes of Thamud and 'Ad denied that disaster would strike them: (4) But the Thamud,- they were destroyed by a terrible Storm of thunder and lightning! (5) as for Aad, they were destroyed by a howling, violent wind (6) To which He subjected them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that thou mightest have seen men during it lying prostrate, as though they were stumps of palms ruined. (7) and dost thou now see any remnant of them? (8) Pharaoh and those before him and the people of the overturned habitations all engaged in the same great sin. (9) And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, therefor did He grip them with a tightening grip. (10) Indeed, when the water overflowed, We carried your ancestors in the sailing ship (11) that We might make it a reminder for you and for heeding ears to hold. (12) Then when the Horn is blown with one blast (13) And the earth and the mountains shall be removed from their places, and crushed with a single crushing, (14) And so, that which must come to pass will on that day have come to pass; (15) when the sky will be rent asunder, the grip holding it together having loosened on that Day, (16) And the angels will be on its sides, and eight angels will, that Day, bear the Throne of your Lord above them. (17) On that day you shall be exposed to view-- no secret of yours shall remain hidden. (18) On that Day, he whose Record is given to him in his right hand will say: “Lo! Read my Record! (19) Indeed, I was certain that I would be meeting my account." (20) He is therefore in the desired serenity. (21) In a Garden lofty. (22) The fruits of which are near at hand: (23) 'Eat and drink with wholesome appetite for that you did long ago, in the days gone by.' (24) But he who is given his record in his left hand will say, "If only I had never been given my Record (25) And had not known what is my account. (26) Would that death had taken us away for good. (27) My wealth has been of no use to me. (28) and my authority has been destroyed' (29) "Seize him and manacle him, (30) and then let him enter hell, (31) And string him to a chain seventy cubits long. (32) for, behold, he did not believe in God, the Tremendous, (33) Nor urged others to feed the poor. (34) Therefore he has not here today a true friend, (35) and the only food he has is filth (36) “Which none except the guilty shall eat.” (37)
