Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ OH, THE LAYING-BARE of the truth! (1) What is the concrete reality? (2) And what will make you know what the Reality is? (3) Thamood and Ad cried lies to the Clatterer. (4) Then the Thamud were destroyed by an awesome upheaval; (5) And as to Ad, they were destroyed by a roaring, violent blast. (6) He forced it upon them with strength, consecutively for seven nights and eight days so you would see those people overthrown in it, like trunks of date palms fallen down. (7) Can you see any of their survivors? (8) And Pharaoh, and those before him, and the Cities Overthrown, committed habitual Sin. (9) They did not follow the Messenger of their Lord, and so He seized them with a severe grip. (10) Lo, when the waters rose, We bore you in the running ship (11) That We might make it a memorial for you, and that remembering ears (that heard the story) might remember. (12) When the single blast is sounded on the trumpet, (13) And the earth with the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with one crash, (14) And so, that which must come to pass will on that day have come to pass; (15) And the sky will be rent asunder, for it will that Day be flimsy, (16) And the angels shall be on the sides thereof; and above them eight shall bear on that day your Lord's power. (17) The Day whereon ye shall be mustered nothing hidden by you shall be hidden. (18) Then he who is given his record in his right hand will exclaim, "Here is my record, read it. (19) Indeed, I was certain that I would be meeting my account." (20) And he will be in a life of Bliss, (21) In a lofty Garden (22) its fruits are near. (23) (They will be told): “Eat and drink with good cheer as a reward for the good deeds you did in the days that have passed by.” (24) But as for he who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, "Oh, I wish I had not been given my record (25) and knew nothing of my reckoning. (26) I wish my death had been the decisive one. (27) My riches have availed me not; (28) and my authority has vanished.” (29) (A command will be issued): “Seize him and shackle him, (30) “Then hurl him into the blazing fire.” (31) And then insert him in a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits. (32) He did not believe in Allah, the Great, (33) nor were they concerned with feeding the destitute. (34) So no friend has he here this Day, (35) Nor any food save filthy corruption. (36) Which none but the hellish eat." (37)
