Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Resurrection Verifier; (1) How tremendous is the true event! (2) And what will make you know what the Reality is? (3) Thamud and 'Aad denied the Striking Calamity. (4) the Thamud were destroyed by a terrible storm of thunder and lightning; (5) And the 'Ad were destroyed by the furious cold blast of roaring wind (6) To which He subjected them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that thou mightest have seen men during it lying prostrate, as though they were stumps of palms ruined. (7) Now dost thou see any remnant of them? (8) Pharaoh and those before him and the people of the overturned habitations all engaged in the same great sin. (9) They disobeyed the Messenger of their Lord and He seized them with torment which increased with time. (10) When the water rose in flood, We bore you in the ark, (11) so that We might make it a reminder for you and so that attentive ears might retain it. (12) And when the trumpet is blown with a single blast, (13) when the earth with all its mountains is lifted up and crushed with a single blow, (14) On that Day shall the (Great) Event come to pass. (15) and the sky will be rent asunder - for, frail will it have become on that Day; (16) And the angels are at its edges. And there will bear the Throne of your Lord above them, that Day, eight [of them]. (17) On that day ye will be exposed; not a secret of you will be hidden. (18) Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he will say: Lo! read my book: (19) I was sure that the record of my deeds would be shown to me". (20) And so he will find himself in a happy state of life, (21) in a lofty Garden (22) The fruits in bunches whereof will be low and near at hand. (23) (And it will be said unto those therein): Eat and drink at ease for that which ye sent on before you in past days. (24) And as for him who is given his book in his left hand he shall say: O would that my book had never been given me: (25) And had not known what is my account. (26) O would that it had made an end (of me): (27) My wealth has not availed me. (28) My power hath gone from me. (29) (The stern command will say): "Seize ye him, and bind ye him, (30) then throw them into hell to be heated up therein. (31) Fasten a chain to them - seventy cubits long - (32) Surely he did not believe in Allah, the Great, (33) And urged not on the feeding of the wretched. (34) So no friend has he here this Day, (35) neither any food saving foul pus, (36) Which none but the wrongdoers eat. (37)
