Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Inevitable! (Day of Judgment). (1) and what is the Resurrection Verifier? (2) Would that you knew (in detail) what the Inevitable is! (3) The tribes of Thamud and 'Aad belied the Striking Day. (4) But the Thamud,- they were destroyed by a terrible Storm of thunder and lightning! (5) And as for 'Aad, they were destroyed by a screaming, violent wind (6) violent that He compelled against them seven nights and eight days, uninterruptedly, and thou mightest see the people laid prostrate in it as if they were the stumps of fallen down palm-trees. (7) So do you see any survivor among them? (8) And Fir'awn and those before him and the overturned cities committed sin. (9) When they disobeyed the apostle of their Lord He seized them with an overwhelming punishment. (10) Surely We bore you up in the ship when the water rose high, (11) making it a Reminder for you, for all attentive ears to retain. (12) And when the trumpet is blown with a single blast, (13) And the earth and the mountains shall be borne and the twain shall be crushed with a single crash. (14) on that Day shall that indubitable event come to pass; (15) And the heaven will split [open], for that Day it is infirm. (16) On its fringes will be angels, eight of them, bearing their Lord's throne aloft. (17) You will then be set before Him, and not one of you will remain unexposed. (18) Then, as for him who is given his record in his right hand, he will say: Take, read my book! (19) Surely I knew that I shall meet my account. (20) So he shall be in a life, well-pleasing. (21) In a Garden lofty. (22) The fruit clusters of which are hanging down. (23) "Eat ye and drink ye, with full satisfaction; because of the (good) that ye sent before you, in the days that are gone!" (24) But whosoever gets his ledger in his left hand, will say: "Would that I were never given my ledger, (25) And knew not what my reckoning! (26) "Ah! Would that (Death) had made an end of me! (27) Of no use was even my wealth. (28) “All my power has vanished.” (29) Lay hold on him, then put a chain on him, (30) then throw them into hell to be heated up therein. (31) Fasten a chain to them - seventy cubits long - (32) "This was he that would not believe in Allah Most High. (33) “And did not urge to feed the needy.” (34) therefore he today has not here one loyal friend, (35) Nor food other than suppuration (filth) (36) Which none but the wrongdoers eat. (37)
