Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ The Resurrection Verifier; (1) What is the Inevitable Hour? (2) And what do you know what that indubitable event is? (3) (The tribes of) Thamud and A'ad disbelieved in the judgment to come. (4) As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the lightning. (5) and the Ad were destroyed by a furiously raging wind-storm (6) Which He made to prevail against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you might have seen the people therein prostrate as if they were the trunks of hollow palms. (7) Beholdest thou any of them remaining? (8) And Pharaoh, and those before him, and the Cities Overthrown, committed habitual Sin. (9) And disobeyed (each) the messenger of their Lord; so He punished them with an abundant Penalty. (10) Lo! when the waters rose, We carried you upon the ship (11) so that We might make all this a [lasting] reminder to you all, and that every wide-awake ear might consciously take it in. (12) Then, when one blast is sounded on the Trumpet, (13) And the earth and the mountains will be lifted up and crushed with a single crush. (14) Then on that Day shall happen the Event. (15) The heaven will be split; because on that Day it will be frail. (16) And the angels shall be on the sides thereof; and above them eight shall bear on that day your Lord's power. (17) On that Day you shall be brought to judgment: not [even] the most hidden of your deeds will remain hidden. (18) So whoever is given his book in his right hand he will say, “Take, read my account!” (19) Indeed, I was certain that I would be meeting my account." (20) So he shall be in a life of pleasure, (21) In high empyrean (22) its clusters nigh to gather. (23) We shall say to him, "Eat and drink joyfully as a reward for the good deeds you did in days gone by." (24) And whoever is given his book in his left hand he will say, “Alas, if only my account were not given to me!” (25) And not known my account! (26) Would it had been the end! (27) "Of no profit to me has been my wealth! (28) "My power has perished from me!"... (29) Lay hold on him, then put a chain on him, (30) "And burn ye him in the Blazing Fire. (31) "Further, make him march in a chain, whereof the length is seventy cubits! (32) Behold, he never believed in God the All-mighty, (33) and he never urged the feeding of the needy; (34) Wherefore for him here this Day there is no friend. (35) and no food except pus (36) None will eat it except the sinners. (37)
