Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Indubitable! (1) and what is the Resurrection Verifier? (2) And what shall make thee know that which the Inevitable Calamity is. (3) Thamood and Ad cried lies to the Clatterer. (4) Then the Thamud were destroyed by an awesome upheaval; (5) And as to Ad, they were destroyed by a roaring, violent blast. (6) which continued to strike them for seven nights and eight days so that eventually you could see the people lying dead like the hollow trunks of uprooted palm-trees. (7) Beholdest thou any of them remaining? (8) And Fir'awn and those before him and the overturned cities committed sin. (9) They did not follow the Messenger of their Lord, and so He seized them with a severe grip. (10) But We bore you away in the Ark, when the waters rose high, (11) That We might make it a Message unto you, and that ears (that should hear the tale and) retain its memory should bear its (lessons) in remembrance. (12) So when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast (13) And the earth and the mountains are borne away and crushed with a single crushing. (14) Then on that Day, the Resurrection will occur, (15) And the heaven shall be rent in sunder, it on that Day shall be frail. (16) And the angels shall be on the sides thereof; and above them eight shall bear on that day your Lord's power. (17) On that day all your secrets will be exposed. (18) Now as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, he will exclaim: "Come you all!" Read this my record! (19) Verily I was sure that I should be a meeter of my reckoning. (20) And so he will find himself in a happy state of life, (21) in a lofty Garden, (22) with clusters of fruit within easy reach. (23) Eat and drink at ease for that which you have sent on before you in days past! (24) As for him whose Record will be given to him in his left hand, he will exclaim: “Would that I had never been given my Record, (25) Nor that I knew my reckoning! (26) Oh, would that this [death of mine] had been the end of me! (27) My wealth has not availed me, (28) Gone from me is my authority." (29) (It will be said): Take him and fetter him (30) Then cast him into the burning fire, (31) then in a chain seventy arm's lengths long insert him. (32) He did not believe in God the supreme, (33) and did not feel any urge to feed the needy: (34) Therefor hath he no lover here this day, (35) and the only food he has is filth (36) “Which none except the guilty shall eat.” (37)
