Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ The Resurrection Verifier; (1) What is the Indubitable? (2) And what do you know what that indubitable event is? (3) Thamood and Ad cried lies to the Clatterer. (4) So regarding the Thamud, they were destroyed by a terrible scream. (5) and the Ad were destroyed by a furiously raging wind-storm (6) which continued to strike them for seven nights and eight days so that eventually you could see the people lying dead like the hollow trunks of uprooted palm-trees. (7) Now dost thou see any remnant of them? (8) And Fir'awn and those before him and the overturned cities committed sin. (9) And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, so He seized them with a seizure exceeding [in severity]. (10) Verily! When the water rose beyond its limits [Nuh's (Noah) Flood], We carried you (mankind) in the floating [ship that was constructed by Nuh (Noah)]. (11) so that We might make it a reminder for you and so that attentive ears might retain it. (12) When a single blast is blown on the trumpet, (13) the earth and mountains will be raised up high and crushed all together. (14) On that day shall the great event come to pass, (15) The sky will cleave asunder on that day and fall to pieces. (16) The angels will stand on all its sides. And on that Day, eight (of them) will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. (17) On that day you shall be exposed, not one secret of yours concealed. (18) Now as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, he will exclaim: "Come you all!" Read this my record! (19) Indeed, I knew that I should come to my reckoning' (20) He is therefore in the desired serenity. (21) In a high garden (22) The fruits of which are near at hand: (23) Eat and drink pleasantly for what you did beforehand in the days gone by. (24) But, he who is given his book in his left hand will say: 'Woe to me, would that my book had not been given to me! (25) And knew not what my reckoning! (26) I wish death had put an end to me. (27) My wealth has not helped me a thing (28) I am bereft of power." (29) [Thereupon the command will go forth:] "Lay hold of him, and shackle him, (30) Then in the Scorch roast him (31) Then thrust him into a chain the length of which is seventy cubits. (32) Behold, he never believed in God the All-mighty, (33) nor were they concerned with feeding the destitute. (34) So there is not for him here this Day any devoted friend (35) “Nor any food except the pus discharged from the people of hell.” (36) None will eat except the Khati'un (sinners, disbelievers, polytheists, etc.). (37)
