Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The sure calamity! (1) What is the Indubitable? (2) Ah, what will convey unto thee what the reality is! (3) The tribes of Thamud and A’ad denied the event of great dismay. (The Day of Resurrection) (4) Then the Thamud were destroyed by an awesome upheaval; (5) The Ads were destroyed by a swift, destructive gale (6) Which Allah imposed upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so you would see the people therein fallen as if they were hollow trunks of palm trees. (7) Do you see any trace of them? (8) Pharaoh likewise, and those before him, and the Subverted Cities -- they committed error, (9) They did not follow the Messenger of their Lord, and so He seized them with a severe grip. (10) When the water rose in flood, We bore you in the ark, (11) That We might make it a remembrance for you, and the keen ear (person) may (hear and) understand it. (12) So when the Trumpet will be blown, with a sudden single blow. (13) And the earth with the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with one crash, (14) on that Day the Great Event will come to pass. (15) and the sky will be rent asunder - for, frail will it have become on that Day; (16) The angels will appear by its sides and, on that Day, eight [angels] will bear your Lord's throne above them. (17) On that day you shall be exposed to view-- no secret of yours shall remain hidden. (18) Then he that will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Ah here! Read ye my Record! (19) "I did really understand that my Account would (One Day) reach me!" (20) So he shall have an agreeable life (21) In a lofty Garden (22) The fruit clusters of which are hanging down. (23) [They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you put forth in the days past." (24) And he that will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "Ah! Would that my Record had not been given to me! (25) And knew not what my reckoning! (26) How I wish my death had ended all. (27) "Of no profit to me has been my wealth! (28) my authority is gone from me.' (29) It will be said, “Seize him, and shackle him.” (30) "And burn ye him in the Blazing Fire. (31) And string him to a chain seventy cubits long. (32) “Indeed he refused to accept faith in Allah, the Greatest.” (33) and he never urged the feeding of the needy; (34) “So he does not have any friend here this day.” (35) Nor any food except from the discharge of wounds; (36) Which none but the wrongdoers eat. (37)
