In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Reality - (1) What is the Inevitable Reality? (2) And what shall make thee know that which the Inevitable Calamity is. (3) The Thamud and the Ad denied the (possibility of a) sudden calamity, calling it false. (4) Then the Thamud were destroyed by an awesome upheaval; (5) And as for A’ad, they were destroyed by a severe thundering windstorm. (6) Which He made to prevail against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you might have seen the people therein prostrate as if they were the trunks of hollow palms. (7) Can you see any remnant of them now? (8) And Pharaoh and those before him, and the communities that were destroyed, brought error, (9) They defied their Lord's messenger, so He seized them with an ever-tightening grip. (10) When the water rose in flood, We bore you in the ark, (11) so that We might make all this a [lasting] reminder to you all, and that every wide-awake ear might consciously take it in. (12) When a single blow is blown on the Horn, (13) And the earth and the mountains will be lifted up and crushed with a single crush. (14) on that Day, the Event occurs. (15) And the sky will be rent asunder, for on that Day it will be so frail. (16) And the angels shall be on the sides thereof; and above them eight shall bear on that day your Lord's power. (17) That Day shall ye be brought to Judgment: not an act of yours that ye hide will be hidden. (18) Now as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, he will exclaim: "Come you all!" Read this my record! (19) Surely I knew that I shall meet my account. (20) And he will be in a life of Bliss, (21) in an exalted garden (22) with fruits within easy reach. (23) “Eat and drink with pleasure the reward of what you sent ahead, in the past days.” (24) As for him whose Record will be given to him in his left hand, he will exclaim: “Would that I had never been given my Record, (25) Nor known whatever was my reckoning! (26) I wish my death had been the decisive one. (27) My wealth has not availed me. (28) and my authority has vanished.” (29) It will be said, “Seize him, and shackle him.” (30) "And burn ye him in the Blazing Fire. (31) Fasten a chain to them - seventy cubits long - (32) He did not believe in God the supreme, (33) Nor did he urge the feeding of the poor. (34) Therefore he has not here today a true friend, (35) Nor any food except from the discharge of wounds; (36) None will eat it except the sinners. (37)
