Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Resurrection Verifier; (1) How awesome that laying-bare of the truth! (2) And what would make you realize what the sure calamity is! (3) The tribes of Thamud and 'Ad denied that disaster would strike them: (4) Now as for the Thamud - they were destroyed by a violent upheaval [of the earth]; (5) and as for the 'Ad - they were destroyed by a storm wind furiously raging, (6) Which Allah imposed upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so you would see the people therein fallen as if they were hollow trunks of palm trees. (7) Do you then see of them one remaining? (8) Then came the Pharaoh, and those before him whose habitations were overthrown while they were committing crimes. (9) And they disobeyed their Lord's Messenger, so He punished them with a strong punishment. (10) Surely We bore you up in the ship when the water rose high, (11) That We might make it a memorial for you, and that remembering ears (that heard the story) might remember. (12) So when the Trumpet will be blown, with a sudden single blow. (13) and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and crushed with a single blow, (14) then, on that day, the Terror shall come to pass, (15) The sky will cleave asunder on that day and fall to pieces. (16) And the angels shall be on the borders thereof; and on that Day eight shall bear over them the Throne of thy Lord. (17) On that day all your secrets will be exposed. (18) Then, as for him who is given his record in his right hand, he will say: Take, read my book! (19) "Surely, I did believe that I shall meet my Account!" (20) And so he will find himself in a happy state of life, (21) In high empyrean (22) its fruits are near. (23) Eat and drink at ease for that which you have sent on before you in days past! (24) But whosoever gets his ledger in his left hand, will say: "Would that I were never given my ledger, (25) And knew not what my reckoning! (26) I wish death had put an end to me. (27) My wealth has not availed me. (28) [and] all my power of argument has died away from me!" (29) "Seize him and manacle him, (30) Roast him in Hell, (31) Then, in a chain whereof the length is seventy Cubits, bind him. (32) "This was he that would not believe in Allah Most High. (33) "And would not encourage the feeding of the indigent! (34) “So he does not have any friend here this day.” (35) and the only food he has is filth (36) which only the sinners eat". (37)
