Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ OH, THE LAYING-BARE of the truth! (1) and what is the Resurrection Verifier? (2) And what can make you know what is the Inevitable Reality? (3) (The tribes of) Thamud and A'ad disbelieved in the judgment to come. (4) As for Thamood, they were destroyed by the Screamer; (5) as for Aad, they were destroyed by a howling, violent wind (6) To which He subjected them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that thou mightest have seen men during it lying prostrate, as though they were stumps of palms ruined. (7) Do you see any remnants of them? (8) And Firon and those before him and the overthrown cities continuously committed sins. (9) And they disobeyed their Lord's Messenger, so He punished them with a strong punishment. (10) Verily when the water rose to great heights, We bore you upon a floating vessel (i.e. the Ark) (11) That We might make it for you a reminder and [that] a conscious ear would be conscious of it. (12) Then when the Horn is blown with one blast (13) And the earth and the mountains shall be borne and the twain shall be crushed with a single crash. (14) And so, that which must come to pass will on that day have come to pass; (15) The heaven will be split; because on that Day it will be frail. (16) and the angels shall stand upon its borders, and upon that day eight shall carry above them the Throne of thy Lord. (17) On that day all your secrets will be exposed. (18) Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he shall say, 'Here, take and read my book! (19) Surely, I knew that I should meet my reckoning," (20) Then he will be in blissful state (21) in a lofty Garden (22) with its fruits within easy reach. (23) [And all who are thus blest will be told:] "Eat and drink with good cheer in return for all [the good deeds] that you have sent ahead in days gone by!" (24) As for him whose Record will be given to him in his left hand, he will exclaim: “Would that I had never been given my Record, (25) "And that I had never realised how my account (stood)! (26) O would that it had made an end (of me): (27) My wealth has been of no use to me. (28) and my authority has vanished.” (29) [Thereupon the command will go forth:] "Lay hold of him, and shackle him, (30) and then roast him in Hell, (31) Then fasten him with a chain seventy cubits long: (32) Indeed, he did not used to believe in Allah, the Most Great, (33) “And did not urge to feed the needy.” (34) so today he has no friend here, (35) Nor any food except from the discharge of wounds; (36) Which none but sinners eat.
