Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Indubitable! (1) How tremendous is the true event! (2) And what shall make thee know that which the Inevitable Calamity is. (3) Thamud and 'Ad people denied the Qari'ah [the striking Hour (of Judgement)]! (4) As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the outburst. (5) And as for A’ad, they were destroyed by a severe thundering windstorm. (6) Which Allah imposed upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so you would see the people therein fallen as if they were hollow trunks of palm trees. (7) Do you see any trace of them? (8) The Pharaoh, those who lived before him and the people of the Subverted Cities all persisted in doing evil. (9) And they disobeyed the Apostle of their Lord, so He punished them with a vehement punishment. (10) Indeed, when the water overflowed, We carried your ancestors in the sailing ship (11) In order to make it a remembrance for you, and in order that the ears that store may remember. (12) Then when the Horn is blown with one blast (13) when the earth with all its mountains is lifted up and crushed with a single blow, (14) On that Day shall the (Great) Event come to pass. (15) And the heaven shall cleave asunder, so that on that day it shall be frail, (16) On its fringes will be angels, eight of them, bearing their Lord's throne aloft. (17) On that day all your secrets will be exposed. (18) Then as to him who will be vouchsafed his book in his right hand, he shall say: here! read my book! (19) "I did really understand that my Account would (One Day) reach me!" (20) He is therefore in the desired serenity. (21) in a lofty Garden (22) Whereof the clusters are in easy reach. (23) “Eat and drink with pleasure the reward of what you sent ahead, in the past days.” (24) And as for him who is given his book in his left hand he shall say: O would that my book had never been given me: (25) and had not known my account. (26) "I wish, would that it had been my end (death)! (27) My wealth has been of no use to me. (28) and our belief has destroyed us". (29) Seize him and fetter him, (30) Roast him in Hell, (31) And then insert him in a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits. (32) for, behold, he did not believe in God, the Tremendous, (33) and he never urged the feeding of the needy; (34) therefore he today has not here one loyal friend, (35) Nor any food except filth from the washing of wounds, (36) that none excepting the sinners eat.' (37)
