Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ The indubitable event! (1) What is the Reality? (2) And what have you understood, how tremendous the true event is! (3) Thamood and Ad cried lies to the Clatterer. (4) As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the lightning. (5) and the Ad were destroyed by a furiously raging wind-storm (6) He forced it upon them with strength, consecutively for seven nights and eight days so you would see those people overthrown in it, like trunks of date palms fallen down. (7) Then do you see of them any remains? (8) Pharaoh and those before him and the people of the overturned habitations all engaged in the same great sin. (9) And disobeyed (each) the messenger of their Lord; so He punished them with an abundant Penalty. (10) And when the waters rose (high) We carried you in the sailing (Ark), (11) as a lesson for you, but only attentive ears will retain it. (12) With the first blast of sound from the trumpet, (13) And the earth and the mountains shall be removed from their places, and crushed with a single crushing, (14) And so, that which must come to pass will on that day have come to pass; (15) The heaven will be split; because on that Day it will be frail. (16) and the angels will stand on the sides, with eight of them bearing aloft the Throne of your Lord on that Day. (17) On that day all of you will be brought forth, so none among you wishing to hide will be able to hide. (18) Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he shall say, 'Here, take and read my book! (19) “I was certain that I will confront my account.” (20) And he will be in a life of Bliss, (21) In an elevated garden, (22) the clusters of whose fruit will be hanging low to be within reach (of the inmates of Paradise). (23) “Eat and drink with pleasure the reward of what you sent ahead, in the past days.” (24) But, he who is given his book in his left hand will say: 'Woe to me, would that my book had not been given to me! (25) and neither known this my account! (26) Oh! Would that the death that came to me in the world had made an end of me! (27) Of no avail to me is all that I have [ever] possessed, (28) my authority is gone from me.' (29) (It will be said): Take him and fetter him (30) And then expose him to hell-fire (31) "Further, make him march in a chain, whereof the length is seventy cubits! (32) He would not believe in Allah, the Most Great; (33) nor did he feel any urge to feed the needy, (34) That is why he has no friend today, (35) and no food except pus (36) "Which none do eat but those in sin."
