Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ OH, THE LAYING-BARE of the truth! (1) What is the Reality? (2) What makes you to know what the Resurrection Verifier is? (3) (The tribes of) Thamud and A'ad disbelieved in the judgment to come. (4) Then as to Samood, they were destroyed by an excessively severe punishment. (5) And as for 'Aad, they were destroyed by a screaming, violent wind (6) Which Allah imposed upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so you would see the people therein fallen as if they were hollow trunks of palm trees. (7) Do you see any remnants of them? (8) And Firaun, and those before him, and the dwellings that were inverted and thrown, had brought error. (9) And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, so He seized them with a seizure exceeding [in severity]. (10) Lo! when the waters rose, We carried you upon the ship (11) So that We may make it a reminder to you, and that the retaining ear might retain it. (12) So when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast (13) when the earth with all its mountains is lifted up and crushed with a single blow, (14) On that day, the inevitable event will take place (15) when the sky will be rent asunder, the grip holding it together having loosened on that Day, (16) And the angels shall be on the sides thereof; and above them eight shall bear on that day your Lord's power. (17) On that day ye will be exposed; not a secret of you will be hidden. (18) Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he will say: Lo! read my book: (19) “I was certain that I will confront my account.” (20) And so he will find himself in a happy state of life, (21) in a lofty Garden, (22) its clusters nigh to gather. (23) (And told:) "Eat and drink to your fill as reward for (good) deeds you had done in days of yore." (24) But as for him who is given his book in his left hand, he shall say, 'Would that I had not been given my book (25) and knew nothing of my reckoning. (26) Oh, would that this [death of mine] had been the end of me! (27) My wealth has not helped me a thing (28) My authority is gone away from me. (29) (It will be said): 'Take him and bind him. (30) Roast him in Hell, (31) Fasten a chain to them - seventy cubits long - (32) for, behold, he did not believe in God, the Tremendous, (33) nor would he urge the feeding of the poor. (34) So no friend has he here this Day, (35) Nor any food save filth (36) which only the sinners eat". (37)
