Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Sure Reality! (1) How awesome that laying-bare of the truth! (2) What makes you to know what the Resurrection Verifier is? (3) The tribes of Thamud and A’ad denied the event of great dismay. (The Day of Resurrection) (4) Now as for the Thamud - they were destroyed by a violent upheaval [of the earth]; (5) And as for 'Aad, they were destroyed by a screaming, violent wind (6) which He let loose upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession; so that (if you had been there) you might have seen people lying prostrate, as though they were uprooted trunks of hollowed palm trees. (7) Do you see any vestige left of them now? (8) Then came the Pharaoh, and those before him whose habitations were overthrown while they were committing crimes. (9) When they disobeyed the apostle of their Lord He seized them with an overwhelming punishment. (10) Surely We bore you up in the ship when the water rose high, (11) In order to make it a warning for you, and that the ear retentive may preserve it. (12) And when the trumpet is blown with a single blast, (13) And the earth is moved, and its mountains, and they are crushed to powder at one stroke,- (14) So that is the day when the forthcoming event will occur. (15) and the heavens will be rent asunder, (16) and the angels [will appear] at its ends, and above them, eight will bear aloft on that Day the throne of thy Sustainer's almightiness… (17) On that Day you shall be brought to judgment: not [even] the most hidden of your deeds will remain hidden. (18) Then as to him who will be vouchsafed his book in his right hand, he shall say: here! read my book! (19) "Surely, I did believe that I shall meet my Account!" (20) And he will be in a life of Bliss, (21) In a Garden lofty. (22) its clusters nigh to gather. (23) "Eat ye and drink ye, with full satisfaction; because of the (good) that ye sent before you, in the days that are gone!" (24) And as for him who is given his book in his left hand he shall say: O would that my book had never been given me: (25) “And had never come to know my account!” (26) Oh, would that this [death of mine] had been the end of me! (27) "My wealth has not availed me, (28) "My power and arguments (to defend myself) have gone from me!" (29) [Allah will say], "Seize him and shackle him. (30) Then in the Scorch roast him (31) “Then bind him inside a chain which is seventy arm-lengths.” (32) He would not believe in Allah, the Most Great; (33) Nor did he urge the feeding of the poor. (34) Wherefore for him here this Day there is no friend. (35) and has no food except the filth from the washing of wounds, (36) Which none but sinners eat. (37)
