Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ The Inevitable! (Day of Judgment). (1) What is the Inevitable Reality? (2) What do you comprehend by the concrete reality? (3) The Thamud and the 'Ad People (branded) as false the Stunning Calamity! (4) As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the outburst. (5) And as for 'Aad, they were destroyed by a screaming, violent wind (6) He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down! (7) Then seest thou any of them left surviving? (8) Pharaoh and those before him and the people of the overturned habitations all engaged in the same great sin. (9) They did not follow the Messenger of their Lord, and so He seized them with a severe grip. (10) And when the waters rose (high) We carried you in the sailing (Ark), (11) so that We might make it an instructive event for you, and retentive ears might preserve its memory. (12) Hence, [bethink yourselves of the Last Hour,] when the trumpet [of judgment] shall be sounded with a single blast, (13) And the earth and the mountains shall be removed from their places, and crushed with a single crushing, (14) On that Day shall the (Great) Event come to pass. (15) And the heaven shall cleave asunder, so that on that day it shall be frail, (16) And the angels will be on its sides, and eight angels will, that Day, bear the Throne of your Lord above them. (17) That will be the Day when you shall be brought forth (before Allah) and no secret of yours shall remain hidden. (18) On that Day, he whose Record is given to him in his right hand will say: “Lo! Read my Record! (19) Surely, I knew that I should meet my reckoning," (20) His shall be a pleasing life (21) In a lofty garden, (22) The fruits of which are near at hand: (23) (And told:) "Eat and drink to your fill as reward for (good) deeds you had done in days of yore." (24) But as for him who will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "I wish that I had not been given my Record! (25) and had not known my account. (26) Oh, would that it had been death! (27) My wealth has not availed me, (28) Gone from me is my authority." (29) The angels will be told, "Seize and chain them, (30) "And burn ye him in the Blazing Fire. (31) Fasten a chain to them - seventy cubits long - (32) Behold, he never believed in God the All-mighty, (33) nor were they concerned with feeding the destitute. (34) On this day, they will have no friends (35) and the only food he has is filth (36) None will eat it except the sinners. (37)
