Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Inevitable! (Day of Judgment). (1) And what is that indubitable event? (2) And what could make thee conceive what that laying-bare of the truth will be? (3) The tribes of Thamud and A’ad denied the event of great dismay. (The Day of Resurrection) (4) But the Thamud,- they were destroyed by a terrible Storm of thunder and lightning! (5) and as for Ad, they were destroyed by a wind clamorous, (6) Which Allah imposed on them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that you could see men lying overthrown (destroyed), as if they were hollow trunks of date-palms! (7) Do you see any vestige left of them now? (8) And Firon and those before him and the overthrown cities continuously committed sins. (9) And they disobeyed their Lord's Messenger, so He punished them with a strong punishment. (10) And when the waters rose (high) We carried you in the sailing (Ark), (11) In order to make it a warning for you, and that the ear retentive may preserve it. (12) Then when the Trumpet will be blown with one blowing (the first one), (13) And the earth and the mountains shall be borne and the twain shall be crushed with a single crash. (14) On that day, the inevitable event will take place (15) The heaven will be split; because on that Day it will be frail. (16) And the angels will be on its sides, and eight will, that Day, bear the Throne of thy Lord above them. (17) On that Day you shall be exposed, and no secret of yours will remain hidden. (18) Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he will say: Lo! read my book: (19) Verily I was sure that I should be a meeter of my reckoning. (20) And so he will find himself in a happy state of life, (21) In a Garden lofty. (22) with fruits within easy reach. (23) We shall say to him, "Eat and drink joyfully as a reward for the good deeds you did in days gone by." (24) But as for he who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, "Oh, I wish I had not been given my record (25) “And had never come to know my account!” (26) Oh, would that this [death of mine] had been the end of me! (27) My riches have availed me not; (28) and my authority has vanished.” (29) [Allah will say], "Seize him and shackle him. (30) and then let him enter Hell. (31) then in a chain seventy arm's lengths long insert him. (32) Indeed, he did not used to believe in Allah, the Most Great, (33) Nor urged others to feed the poor. (34) Today he shall have no loyal friend here, (35) and the only food he has is filth (36) Which none but sinners eat. (37)
