Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Resurrection Verifier; (1) What is the Indubitable? (2) And what do you know what that indubitable event is? (3) The tribes of Thamud and 'Ad denied that disaster would strike them: (4) Now as for the Thamud - they were destroyed by a violent upheaval [of the earth]; (5) And the 'Ad were destroyed by the furious cold blast of roaring wind (6) To which He subjected them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that thou mightest have seen men during it lying prostrate, as though they were stumps of palms ruined. (7) and dost thou now see any remnant of them? (8) Pharaoh likewise, and those before him, and the Subverted Cities -- they committed error, (9) And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, therefor did He grip them with a tightening grip. (10) And when the waters rose (high) We carried you in the sailing (Ark), (11) that We might make it a reminder for you and for heeding ears to hold. (12) Then, when one blast is sounded on the Trumpet, (13) And the earth and the mountains will be lifted up and crushed with a single crush. (14) on that Day, the Event occurs. (15) And the heaven shall cleave asunder, so that on that day it shall be frail, (16) and will turn frail, losing all force. The angels will be around the heavens and on that day eight of them will carry the Throne of your Lord above all the creatures. (17) That Day, you will be exhibited [for judgement]; not hidden among you is anything concealed. (18) Then, as for him who is given his record in his right hand, he will say: Take, read my book! (19) Indeed, I knew that I should come to my reckoning' (20) So he shall have an agreeable life (21) In a lofty Paradise, (22) The fruit clusters of which are hanging down. (23) Eat and drink with benefit for that which ye sent on beforehand in days past. (24) But as for he who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, "Oh, I wish I had not been given my record (25) and that we would never knew what our records contained. (26) "I wish, would that it had been my end (death)! (27) Of no use was even my wealth. (28) and my authority has been destroyed' (29) (It will be said): "Seize him and fetter him, (30) Then cast him into the burning fire, (31) And then insert him in a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits. (32) Verily he was wont not to believe in Allah, the Mighty. (33) Nor did he urge the feeding of the poor. (34) Wherefore for him here this Day there is no friend. (35) nor any food except foul pus (36) which no one will eat except the sinners. (37)
