Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The true event! (1) What is the sure calamity! (2) What do you comprehend by the concrete reality? (3) Thamood and Ad cried lies to the Clatterer. (4) So destroyed were the Thamud by a storm of thunder and lightning; (5) as for Aad, they were destroyed by a howling, violent wind (6) To which He subjected them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that thou mightest have seen men during it lying prostrate, as though they were stumps of palms ruined. (7) Do you now see any trace of them? (8) And Firon and those before him and the overthrown cities continuously committed sins. (9) and rebelled against their Lord's Messenger. So He took them with a stern taking. (10) When the flood rose high and covered the whole land, We carried you in the Ark. (11) so that We might make it an instructive event for you, and retentive ears might preserve its memory. (12) Then when the Horn is blown with one blast (13) when the earth with all its mountains is lifted up and crushed with a single blow, (14) on that Day shall that indubitable event come to pass; (15) when the sky will be rent asunder, the grip holding it together having loosened on that Day, (16) And the angels shall be on the borders thereof; and on that Day eight shall bear over them the Throne of thy Lord. (17) On that Day you shall be brought to judgment: not [even] the most hidden of your deeds will remain hidden. (18) He who is given his ledger in his right hand, will say: "Here, read my ledger. (19) Indeed, I was certain that I would be meeting my account." (20) so he will live in a state of Bliss (21) in a lofty Garden (22) The fruits of which are near at hand: (23) 'Eat and drink with wholesome appetite for that you did long ago, in the days gone by.' (24) And whoever is given his book in his left hand he will say, “Alas, if only my account were not given to me!” (25) “And had never come to know my account!” (26) "I wish, would that it had been my end (death)! (27) My wealth hath not availed me, (28) my authority is gone from me.' (29) (It will be said): 'Take him and bind him. (30) Then cast him to be burnt in Hell; (31) Then, in a chain whereof the length is seventy Cubits, bind him. (32) He did not believe in God the supreme, (33) nor did he urge the feeding of the needy. (34) and so, no friend has here today, (35) Nor any food except from the discharge of wounds; (36) which none but the sinners eat!" (37)
