Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Resurrection Verifier; (1) What is the Inevitable Reality? (2) Ah, what will convey unto thee what the reality is! (3) Thamud and 'Aad denied the Striking Calamity. (4) As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the outburst. (5) And the 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious Wind, exceedingly violent; (6) To which He subjected them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that thou mightest have seen men during it lying prostrate, as though they were stumps of palms ruined. (7) Beholdest thou any of them remaining? (8) The Pharaoh, those who lived before him and the people of the Subverted Cities all persisted in doing evil. (9) When they disobeyed the apostle of their Lord He seized them with an overwhelming punishment. (10) Lo, when the waters rose, We bore you in the running ship (11) That We might make it a remembrance for you, and the keen ear (person) may (hear and) understand it. (12) And when the trumpet is blown with a single blast, (13) And the earth is moved, and its mountains, and they are crushed to powder at one stroke,- (14) on that Day the Great Event will come to pass. (15) And the sky will be rent asunder, for it will that Day be flimsy, (16) On its fringes will be angels, eight of them, bearing their Lord's throne aloft. (17) On that Day you shall be exposed, and no secret of yours will remain hidden. (18) Now as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, he will exclaim: "Come you all!" Read this my record! (19) “I was certain that I will confront my account.” (20) Then he shall find himself in a life of bliss; (21) in an exalted garden (22) The fruits in bunches whereof will be low and near at hand. (23) 'Eat and drink with wholesome appetite for that you did long ago, in the days gone by.' (24) Then as to him who shall be vouchsafed his book in his left hand, he shall say: Oh! would that I had not been vouchsafed my book. (25) And I had not known what my account was: (26) "Ah! Would that (Death) had made an end of me! (27) My wealth has not availed me, (28) and my authority has vanished.” (29) It will be said, “Seize him, and shackle him.” (30) And then expose him to hell-fire (31) And string him to a chain seventy cubits long. (32) Verily, He used not to believe in Allah, the Most Great, (33) nor did he urge the feeding of the needy. (34) Wherefore for him here this Day there is no friend. (35) neither any food saving foul pus, (36) which only the sinners will eat.” (37)
