Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Reality - (1) How awesome that laying-bare of the truth! (2) Ah, what will convey unto thee what the reality is! (3) The Thamud and the Ad denied the (possibility of a) sudden calamity, calling it false. (4) Then as to Samood, they were destroyed by an excessively severe punishment. (5) And as for 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious violent wind; (6) Which Allah imposed upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so you would see the people therein fallen as if they were hollow trunks of palm trees. (7) Can you see any remnant of them now? (8) And Firaun, and those before him, and the dwellings that were inverted and thrown, had brought error. (9) They therefore disobeyed the Noble Messengers of their Lord so He seized them with an intense seizure. (10) Lo, when the waters rose, We bore you in the running ship (11) That We might make it unto you an admonition, and that it might be retained by the retaining ears. (12) With the first blast of sound from the trumpet, (13) and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and crushed with a single blow, (14) On that Day will come what is to come. (15) And the sky will be rent asunder, for it will that Day be flimsy, (16) And the angels will be on its sides, and eight angels will, that Day, bear the Throne of your Lord above them. (17) That Day, you will be exhibited [for judgement]; not hidden among you is anything concealed. (18) Then he who is given his record in his right hand will exclaim, "Here is my record, read it. (19) Surely, I knew that I should meet my reckoning," (20) So he shall be in a life, well-pleasing. (21) in a lofty paradise, (22) with fruits within easy reach. (23) Such people will be told, "Eat and drink with pleasure as the reward for what you did in the past". (24) But as for him whose record shall be placed in his left hand, he will exclaim: "Oh, would that I had never been shown this my record, (25) "And that I had never known, how my Account is? (26) How I wish my death had ended all. (27) "Of no profit to me has been my wealth! (28) my authority is gone from me.' (29) [Thereupon the command will go forth:] "Lay hold of him, and shackle him, (30) “Then hurl him into the blazing fire.” (31) Then, in a chain whereof the length is seventy Cubits, bind him. (32) for, behold, he did not believe in God, the Tremendous, (33) nor did he feel any urge to feed the needy, (34) Today he has been left here friendless; (35) Nor any food except from the discharge of wounds; (36) None shall eat it but the sinners. (37)
