Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ THE CONCRETE REALITY. (1) What is the Reality? (2) And what can make you know what is the Inevitable Reality? (3) The tribes of Thamud and A’ad denied the event of great dismay. (The Day of Resurrection) (4) The Thamuds were destroyed by a violent blast of sound. (5) And the 'Ad were destroyed by the furious cold blast of roaring wind (6) Which He made to prevail against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you might have seen the people therein prostrate as if they were the trunks of hollow palms. (7) Then seest thou any of them left surviving? (8) The Pharaoh, those who lived before him and the people of the Subverted Cities all persisted in doing evil. (9) They disobeyed the Messenger of their Lord and He seized them with torment which increased with time. (10) But We bore you away in the Ark, when the waters rose high, (11) So that We may make it a reminder to you, and that the retaining ear might retain it. (12) And when the trumpet shall sound a single blast. (13) And the earth and mountains heaved and crushed to powder with one levelling blow, (14) Then, on that day will the Event befall. (15) And the heaven shall be rent in sunder, it on that Day shall be frail. (16) And the angels will be on its sides, and eight angels will, that Day, bear the Throne of your Lord above them. (17) That Day shall you be brought to Judgement, not a secret of you will be hidden. (18) Then as to him who will be vouchsafed his book in his right hand, he shall say: here! read my book! (19) Behold, I did know that [one day] I would have to face my account! (20) So he shall be in a pleasing life (21) In a high garden (22) with fruits within easy reach. (23) (And it will be said unto those therein): Eat and drink at ease for that which ye sent on before you in past days. (24) But whosoever gets his ledger in his left hand, will say: "Would that I were never given my ledger, (25) and knew nothing of my reckoning. (26) O would that it had made an end (of me): (27) My riches have availed me not; (28) [and] all my power of argument has died away from me!" (29) Lay hold on him, then put a chain on him, (30) then cast him in the Fire, (31) then fasten him with a chain, seventy cubits long. (32) He did not believe in Allah, the Great, (33) “And did not urge to feed the needy.” (34) “So he does not have any friend here this day.” (35) "Nor hath he any food except the corruption from the washing of wounds, (36) None shall eat it but the sinners. (37)
