Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ OH, THE LAYING-BARE of the truth! (1) How awesome that laying-bare of the truth! (2) And what can make you know what is the Inevitable Reality? (3) The people of Thamud and Ad denied the Day of Judgment. (4) So as for Thamud, they were destroyed by the overpowering [blast]. (5) and as for the 'Ad - they were destroyed by a storm wind furiously raging, (6) violent that He compelled against them seven nights and eight days, uninterruptedly, and thou mightest see the people laid prostrate in it as if they were the stumps of fallen down palm-trees. (7) and dost thou now see any remnant of them? (8) Pharaoh and those before him and the people of the overturned habitations all engaged in the same great sin. (9) And disobeyed (each) the messenger of their Lord; so He punished them with an abundant Penalty. (10) [And] behold: when the waters [of Noah's flood] burst beyond all limits, it was We who caused you to be borne [to safety] in that floating ark, (11) so that We might make all this a [lasting] reminder to you all, and that every wide-awake ear might consciously take it in. (12) With the first blast of sound from the trumpet, (13) and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and then crushed with a single blow, (14) Then, on that day will the Event befall. (15) The heaven will be split; because on that Day it will be frail. (16) And the angels will be on its sides, and eight angels will, that Day, bear the Throne of your Lord above them. (17) That will be the Day when you shall be brought forth (before Allah) and no secret of yours shall remain hidden. (18) Then he who is given his record in his right hand will exclaim, "Here is my record, read it. (19) Surely I knew that I shall meet my account. (20) So he shall have an agreeable life (21) in a lofty Garden (22) with fruits within easy reach. (23) (And it will be said unto those therein): Eat and drink at ease for that which ye sent on before you in past days. (24) But as for he who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, "Oh, I wish I had not been given my record (25) and had not known my account. (26) I wish my death had been the decisive one. (27) Our wealth is of no benefit to us (28) “All my power has vanished.” (29) The angels will be told, "Seize and chain them, (30) “Then hurl him into the blazing fire.” (31) Then, in a chain whereof the length is seventy Cubits, bind him. (32) He did not believe in God the supreme, (33) “And did not urge to feed the needy.” (34) so today he has no friend here, (35) Nor food other than suppuration (filth) (36) Which none but the hellish eat."
