Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ OH, THE LAYING-BARE of the truth! (1) What is the Inevitable Calamity? (2) And what will make you know what the Reality is? (3) (The tribes of) Thamud and A'ad disbelieved in the judgment to come. (4) As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the outburst. (5) And as for A'ad, they were destroyed by a fierce roaring wind, (6) To which He subjected them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that thou mightest have seen men during it lying prostrate, as though they were stumps of palms ruined. (7) Beholdest thou any of them remaining? (8) Then came the Pharaoh, and those before him whose habitations were overthrown while they were committing crimes. (9) They defied their Lord's messenger, so He seized them with an ever-tightening grip. (10) When the flood rose high and covered the whole land, We carried you in the Ark. (11) so that We might make it an instructive event for you, and retentive ears might preserve its memory. (12) Then, when one blast is sounded on the Trumpet, (13) And the earth is moved, and its mountains, and they are crushed to powder at one stroke,- (14) Then on that Day, the Resurrection will occur, (15) The heaven will be split; because on that Day it will be frail. (16) The angels will stand on all its sides. And on that Day, eight (of them) will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. (17) That Day shall you be brought to Judgement, not a secret of you will be hidden. (18) Then he that will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Ah here! Read ye my Record! (19) Certainly I thought that I should encounter my reckoning.' (20) So he shall be in a life of pleasure, (21) In a Garden on high, (22) its clusters nigh to gather. (23) "Eat ye and drink ye, with full satisfaction; because of the (good) that ye sent before you, in the days that are gone!" (24) And whoever is given his book in his left hand he will say, “Alas, if only my account were not given to me!” (25) Nor known whatever was my reckoning! (26) Oh, would that this [death of mine] had been the end of me! (27) Of no avail to me is all that I have [ever] possessed, (28) and my authority has been destroyed' (29) Seize him and fetter him, (30) Then cast him into the burning fire, (31) And then insert him in a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits. (32) Indeed, he did not used to believe in Allah, the Most Great, (33) "And would not encourage the feeding of the indigent! (34) Wherefore for him here this Day there is no friend. (35) “Nor any food except the pus discharged from the people of hell.” (36) that none but sinners eat' (37)
