Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ The Reality (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)! (1) What is the Inevitable? (2) And what can make you know what is the Inevitable Reality? (3) Thamud and 'Ad people denied the Qari'ah [the striking Hour (of Judgement)]! (4) The Thamuds were destroyed by a violent blast of sound. (5) And as for 'Aad they were destroyed by a wind, furious, roaring. (6) which continued to strike them for seven nights and eight days so that eventually you could see the people lying dead like the hollow trunks of uprooted palm-trees. (7) Do you see any remnants of them? (8) And Firaun, and those before him, and the dwellings that were inverted and thrown, had brought error. (9) and they rebelled against the Messenger of their Lord, and He seized them with a surpassing grip. (10) Surely We bore you up in the ship when the water rose high, (11) so that We might make all this a [lasting] reminder to you all, and that every wide-awake ear might consciously take it in. (12) Then when the Horn is blown with one blast (13) And the earth is moved, and its mountains, and they are crushed to powder at one stroke,- (14) On that Day shall the (Great) Event come to pass. (15) And the sky will be rent asunder, for it will that Day be flimsy, (16) And the angels will be on its sides, and eight angels will, that Day, bear the Throne of your Lord above them. (17) On that day all of you will be brought forth, so none among you wishing to hide will be able to hide. (18) He who is given his ledger in his right hand, will say: "Here, read my ledger. (19) Behold, I did know that [one day] I would have to face my account! (20) So he shall be in a life of pleasure, (21) in a lofty paradise, (22) Its [fruit] to be picked hanging near. (23) (They will be told): “Eat and drink with good cheer as a reward for the good deeds you did in the days that have passed by.” (24) But as for he who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, "Oh, I wish I had not been given my record (25) And had not known what is my account. (26) Oh, would that it had been the ending! (27) "Of no profit to me has been my wealth! (28) Vanished has my power from me." (29) (A command will be issued): “Seize him and shackle him, (30) Then cast him to be burnt in Hell; (31) then in a chain of seventy cubits' length insert him! (32) “Indeed he refused to accept faith in Allah, the Greatest.” (33) and did not feel any urge to feed the needy: (34) On this day, they will have no friends (35) “Nor any food except the pus discharged from the people of hell.” (36) None will eat it except the sinners. (37)
