Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Sure Reality! (1) and what is the Resurrection Verifier? (2) Ah, what will convey unto thee what the reality is! (3) Thamood and Aad belied the Clatterer. (4) Thamood, they were destroyed by the violent shout (of Gabriel), (5) and the Ad were destroyed by a furiously raging wind-storm (6) He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down! (7) Canst thou (O Muhammad) see any remnant of them? (8) And there came Pharaoh and those before him and the overturned cities with sin. (9) and they rebelled against the Messenger of their Lord, and He seized them with a surpassing grip. (10) Indeed when the water swelled up, We boarded you onto the ship. (11) That We might make it unto you an admonition, and that it might be retained by the retaining ears. (12) And when the trumpet shall sound a single blast. (13) And the earth and the mountains will be lifted up and crushed with a single crush. (14) On that Day will come what is to come. (15) when the sky will be rent asunder, the grip holding it together having loosened on that Day, (16) And the angels shall be on the sides thereof; and above them eight shall bear on that day your Lord's power. (17) On that Day you shall be exposed, and no secret of yours will remain hidden. (18) Now as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, he will exclaim: "Come you all!" Read this my record! (19) I was certain I'll be given my account." (20) so he will live in a state of Bliss (21) In a lofty Garden (22) with its fruits within easy reach. (23) [And all who are thus blest will be told:] "Eat and drink with good cheer in return for all [the good deeds] that you have sent ahead in days gone by!" (24) And whoever is given his book in his left hand he will say, “Alas, if only my account were not given to me!” (25) and had not known my account. (26) Would that it (my death) had ended it all! (27) Of no use was even my wealth. (28) "My power has perished from me!"... (29) Lay hold on him, then put a chain on him, (30) and then roast him in Hell, (31) And then insert him in a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits. (32) Verily he was wont not to believe in Allah, the Mighty. (33) nor would he urge the feeding of the poor. (34) Therefore he has not here today a true friend, (35) “Nor any food except the pus discharged from the people of hell.” (36) which no one will eat except the sinners. (37)
