Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ OH, THE LAYING-BARE of the truth! (1) What is the Reality? (2) And what shall make thee know that which the Inevitable Calamity is. (3) The Thamud and the Ad denied the (possibility of a) sudden calamity, calling it false. (4) So regarding the Thamud, they were destroyed by a terrible scream. (5) And the 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious Wind, exceedingly violent; (6) Which Allah imposed upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so you would see the people therein fallen as if they were hollow trunks of palm trees. (7) Do you then see of them one remaining? (8) Similarly, Pharaoh, and those before him, and the ruined villages, sinned (9) And they disobeyed the Apostle of their Lord, so He punished them with a vehement punishment. (10) Indeed when the water swelled up, We boarded you onto the ship. (11) That We might make it for you a reminder and [that] a conscious ear would be conscious of it. (12) So when the Trumpet will be blown, with a sudden single blow. (13) and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and then crushed with a single blow, (14) on that Day the Great Event will come to pass. (15) And the heaven will split asunder so on that day it will be unstable. (16) and the angels [will appear] at its ends, and above them, eight will bear aloft on that Day the throne of thy Sustainer's almightiness… (17) The Day whereon ye shall be mustered nothing hidden by you shall be hidden. (18) On that Day, he whose Record is given to him in his right hand will say: “Lo! Read my Record! (19) Verily I was sure that I should be a meeter of my reckoning. (20) Then he will be in blissful state (21) In a lofty Garden (22) The Fruits whereof (will hang in bunches) low and near. (23) [They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you put forth in the days past." (24) But as for him who will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "I wish that I had not been given my Record! (25) "And that I had never realised how my account (stood)! (26) Would that death had taken us away for good. (27) My wealth has been of no use to me. (28) I am bereft of power." (29) (A command will be issued): “Seize him and shackle him, (30) and then let him enter hell, (31) Fasten a chain to them - seventy cubits long - (32) they did not believe in the great God, (33) Nor did he encourage the feeding of the poor. (34) "So no friend hath he here this Day. (35) nor any food except foul pus (36) which no one will eat except the sinners. (37)
