Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ THE CONCRETE REALITY. (1) What is the Sure Reality? (2) And what will make thee realise what the Sure Reality is? (3) Samood and Ad called the striking calamity a lie. (4) As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the lightning. (5) and the 'Ad were destroyed by a furious wind (6) which He let loose upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession; so that (if you had been there) you might have seen people lying prostrate, as though they were uprooted trunks of hollowed palm trees. (7) and dost thou now see any remnant of them? (8) Pharaoh and those before him and the people of the overturned habitations all engaged in the same great sin. (9) They therefore disobeyed the Noble Messengers of their Lord so He seized them with an intense seizure. (10) Indeed, when the water overflowed, We carried your ancestors in the sailing ship (11) In order to make it a warning for you, and that the ear retentive may preserve it. (12) Then, when one blast is sounded on the Trumpet, (13) when the earth with all its mountains is lifted up and crushed with a single blow, (14) So that is the day when the forthcoming event will occur. (15) and the heavens will be rent asunder, (16) And the angels are at its edges. And there will bear the Throne of your Lord above them, that Day, eight [of them]. (17) On that day ye will be exposed; not a secret of you will be hidden. (18) So as for he who is given his record in his right hand, he will say, "Here, read my record! (19) Verily I was sure that I should be a meeter of my reckoning. (20) His shall be a pleasing life (21) in a lofty garden, (22) its clusters nigh to gather. (23) “Eat and drink with pleasure the reward of what you sent ahead, in the past days.” (24) As for him whose Record will be given to him in his left hand, he will exclaim: “Would that I had never been given my Record, (25) And knew not what my reckoning! (26) "I wish, would that it had been my end (death)! (27) “My wealth did not in the least benefit me.” (28) There hath perished from me my authority. (29) Lay hold of him and chain him; (30) "And burn ye him in the Blazing Fire. (31) Then into a chain whose length is seventy cubits insert him." (32) Verily he was wont not to believe in Allah, the Mighty. (33) nor did he feel any urge to feed the needy, (34) Therefor hath he no lover here this day, (35) nor any food save the filth (36) Which none but sinners eat. (37)
