Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Sure Reality! (1) What is the Sure Reality? (2) And what could make thee conceive what that laying-bare of the truth will be? (3) Thamud and 'Ad people denied the Qari'ah [the striking Hour (of Judgement)]! (4) Now as for the Thamud - they were destroyed by a violent upheaval [of the earth]; (5) And as to Ad, they were destroyed by a roaring, violent blast. (6) Which He imposed on them for seven long nights and eight long days so that thou mightest have seen men lying overthrown, as they were hollow trunks of palm-trees. (7) and dost thou now see any remnant of them? (8) Similarly, Pharaoh, and those before him, and the ruined villages, sinned (9) And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, therefor did He grip them with a tightening grip. (10) Verily We! when the water rose, We bare you upon the traversing ark. (11) so that We might make all this a [lasting] reminder to you all, and that every wide-awake ear might consciously take it in. (12) Then when the Trumpet will be blown with one blowing (the first one), (13) And the earth and the mountains shall be borne and the twain shall be crushed with a single crash. (14) on that Day shall that indubitable event come to pass; (15) And the heaven shall cleave asunder, so that on that day it shall be frail, (16) And the angels shall be on the sides thereof; and above them eight shall bear on that day your Lord's power. (17) On that day you shall be exposed to view-- no secret of yours shall remain hidden. (18) So as for he who is given his record in his right hand, he will say, "Here, read my record! (19) Verily I was sure that I would be handed over my account.” (20) So he shall be in a life, well-pleasing. (21) In an elevated garden, (22) the clusters of whose fruit will be hanging low to be within reach (of the inmates of Paradise). (23) Eat and drink pleasantly for what you did beforehand in the days gone by. (24) But as for him who will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "I wish that I had not been given my Record! (25) Nor known whatever was my reckoning! (26) How I wish my death had ended all. (27) My wealth has not availed me. (28) and my authority has been destroyed' (29) (It will be said): "Seize him and fetter him, (30) Roast him in Hell, (31) And then insert him in a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits. (32) He did not believe in Allah, the Great, (33) Nor did he encourage the feeding of the poor. (34) and so, no friend has here today, (35) Nor any food save filthy corruption. (36) which only the sinners eat". (37)
