Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Resurrection Verifier; (1) What is the sure calamity! (2) And what could make thee conceive what that laying-bare of the truth will be? (3) The tribes of Thamud and 'Ad denied that disaster would strike them: (4) The Thamuds were destroyed by a violent blast of sound. (5) and as for Ad, they were destroyed by a wind clamorous, (6) He forced it upon them with strength, consecutively for seven nights and eight days so you would see those people overthrown in it, like trunks of date palms fallen down. (7) Can you see any of their survivors? (8) Similarly, Pharaoh, and those before him, and the ruined villages, sinned (9) They therefore disobeyed the Noble Messengers of their Lord so He seized them with an intense seizure. (10) When the flood rose high and covered the whole land, We carried you in the Ark. (11) That We might make it a Message unto you, and that ears (that should hear the tale and) retain its memory should bear its (lessons) in remembrance. (12) Then when the Horn is blown with one blast (13) And the earth and the mountains shall be removed from their places, and crushed with a single crushing, (14) On that Day shall the (Great) Event come to pass. (15) And the heaven will split [open], for that Day it is infirm. (16) On its fringes will be angels, eight of them, bearing their Lord's throne aloft. (17) On that Day you shall be brought to judgment: not [even] the most hidden of your deeds will remain hidden. (18) Now as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, he will exclaim: "Come you all!" Read this my record! (19) Surely I knew that I should have to meet my reckoning. (20) So he shall have an agreeable life (21) In a Garden lofty. (22) The fruits in bunches whereof will be low and near at hand. (23) (It will be said): 'Eat and drink with a good appetite because of what you did in days long passed' (24) But he who is given his record in his left hand will say, "If only I had never been given my Record (25) And had not known what is my account. (26) Oh, would that it had been death! (27) "Of no profit to me has been my wealth! (28) "My power has perished from me!"... (29) [Thereupon the command will go forth:] "Lay hold of him, and shackle him, (30) then throw them into hell to be heated up therein. (31) And then insert him in a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits. (32) He did not believe in Allah, the Great, (33) Nor he urged on others the feeding of the poor. (34) Today he shall have no loyal friend here, (35) Nor any food except filth from the washing of wounds, (36) Which none but the wrongdoers eat. (37)
