Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Hour! (1) What is the Indubitable? (2) And what will teach thee what is the Indubitable? (3) The tribes of Thamud and 'Aad belied the Striking Day. (4) As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the lightning. (5) And as to Ad, they were destroyed by a roaring, violent blast. (6) Which He made to prevail against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you might have seen the people therein prostrate as if they were the trunks of hollow palms. (7) Beholdest thou any of them remaining? (8) And Fir'aun (Pharaoh), and those before him, and the cities overthrown [the towns of the people of [Lout (Lot)] committed sin, (9) They therefore disobeyed the Noble Messengers of their Lord so He seized them with an intense seizure. (10) Lo! when the waters rose, We carried you upon the ship (11) so that We might make it an instructive event for you, and retentive ears might preserve its memory. (12) Then, when one blast is sounded on the Trumpet, (13) And the earth is moved, and its mountains, and they are crushed to powder at one stroke,- (14) So that is the day when the forthcoming event will occur. (15) when the sky will be rent asunder, the grip holding it together having loosened on that Day, (16) The angels will appear by its sides and, on that Day, eight [angels] will bear your Lord's throne above them. (17) On that Day you will be brought to judgement and none of your secrets will remain hidden. (18) Then, he who is given his book in his right hand will say: 'Here, take and read my book! (19) Indeed, I was certain that I would be meeting my account." (20) His shall be a pleasing life (21) in a lofty Garden, (22) Its [fruit] to be picked hanging near. (23) (And told:) "Eat and drink to your fill as reward for (good) deeds you had done in days of yore." (24) And whoever is given his book in his left hand he will say, “Alas, if only my account were not given to me!” (25) and neither known this my account! (26) "Ah! Would that (Death) had made an end of me! (27) Of no avail to me is all that I have [ever] possessed, (28) There hath perished from me my authority. (29) [Allah will say], "Seize him and shackle him. (30) then cast him in the Fire, (31) Then into a chain whose length is seventy cubits insert him." (32) He did not believe in God the supreme, (33) And urged not on the feeding of Al-Miskin (the poor), (34) That is why he has no friend today, (35) Nor any food save filthy corruption. (36) “Which none except the guilty shall eat.” (37)
