Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ The sure calamity! (1) and what is the Resurrection Verifier? (2) Ah, what will convey unto thee what the reality is! (3) The tribes of Thamud and 'Ad denied that disaster would strike them: (4) Now as for the Thamud - they were destroyed by a violent upheaval [of the earth]; (5) and as for Ad, they were destroyed by a wind clamorous, (6) Which He imposed on them for seven long nights and eight long days so that thou mightest have seen men lying overthrown, as they were hollow trunks of palm-trees. (7) Do you now see any trace of them? (8) Similarly, Pharaoh, and those before him, and the ruined villages, sinned (9) And they disobeyed the Apostle of their Lord, so He punished them with a vehement punishment. (10) But We bore you away in the Ark, when the waters rose high, (11) That We might make it unto you an admonition, and that it might be retained by the retaining ears. (12) Then when the Horn is blown with one blast (13) And the earth and the mountains shall be borne and the twain shall be crushed with a single crash. (14) then, on that day, the Terror shall come to pass, (15) and the heavens will be rent asunder, (16) and will turn frail, losing all force. The angels will be around the heavens and on that day eight of them will carry the Throne of your Lord above all the creatures. (17) On that day all your secrets will be exposed. (18) Then as to him who will be vouchsafed his book in his right hand, he shall say: here! read my book! (19) Verily I was sure that I should be a meeter of my reckoning. (20) So he will be in a pleasant life - (21) in a high Garden, (22) The fruits in bunches whereof will be low and near at hand. (23) (They will be told): “Eat and drink with good cheer as a reward for the good deeds you did in the days that have passed by.” (24) As for him whose Record will be given to him in his left hand, he will exclaim: “Would that I had never been given my Record, (25) and had not known my account. (26) "I wish, would that it had been my end (death)! (27) My wealth has not helped me a thing (28) “All my power has vanished.” (29) (A command will be issued): “Seize him and shackle him, (30) And then expose him to hell-fire (31) then in a chain of seventy cubits' length insert him! (32) Surely he did not believe in Allah, the Great, (33) and did not feel any urge to feed the needy: (34) Today he shall have no loyal friend here, (35) and has no food except the filth from the washing of wounds, (36) Which none but the hellish eat." (37)
