Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Inevitable! (Day of Judgment). (1) What is the sure calamity! (2) And what will make you realize what the Inevitable Hour is? (3) Thamood and Aad belied the Clatterer. (4) As for Thamood, they were destroyed by the Screamer; (5) And as for 'Aad, they were destroyed by a screaming, violent wind (6) He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down! (7) Do you see any vestige left of them now? (8) And Pharaoh and those before him, and the communities that were destroyed, brought error, (9) When they disobeyed the apostle of their Lord He seized them with an overwhelming punishment. (10) And when the waters rose (high) We carried you in the sailing (Ark), (11) so that We might make it an instructive event for you, and retentive ears might preserve its memory. (12) And when the trumpet shall sound one blast (13) when the earth with all its mountains is lifted up and crushed with a single blow, (14) on that Day, the Event occurs. (15) And the heaven shall be rent in sunder, it on that Day shall be frail. (16) and the angels shall stand upon its borders, and upon that day eight shall carry above them the Throne of thy Lord. (17) On that Day you shall be brought to judgment: not [even] the most hidden of your deeds will remain hidden. (18) Then, as for him who is given his record in his right hand, he will say: Take, read my book! (19) Surely, I knew that I should meet my reckoning," (20) And so he will find himself in a happy state of life, (21) in a lofty paradise, (22) The Fruits whereof (will hang in bunches) low and near. (23) [They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you put forth in the days past." (24) However, those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their left hands will say, "We wish that this record had never been given to us (25) And not known my account! (26) “Alas, if only it had been just death.” (27) My riches have availed me not; (28) Gone from me is my authority." (29) Lay hold on him, then put a chain on him, (30) Then into Hellfire drive him. (31) then in a chain seventy arm's lengths long insert him. (32) for, behold, he did not believe in God, the Tremendous, (33) And urged not on the feeding of Al-Miskin (the poor), (34) Therefor hath he no lover here this day, (35) and no food except pus (36) Which none but the wrongdoers eat. (37)
