Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ The Indubitable! (1) What is the Inevitable Calamity? (2) And what will make you realize what the Inevitable Hour is? (3) Thamood and Ad cried lies to the Clatterer. (4) Thamood, they were destroyed by the violent shout (of Gabriel), (5) and as for the 'Ad - they were destroyed by a storm wind furiously raging, (6) violent that He compelled against them seven nights and eight days, uninterruptedly, and thou mightest see the people laid prostrate in it as if they were the stumps of fallen down palm-trees. (7) Canst thou (O Muhammad) see any remnant of them? (8) And there was Pharaoh, too, and [many of] those who lived before him, and the cities that were overthrown - [all of them] indulged in sin upon sin (9) and rebelled against their Lord's Messenger. So He took them with a stern taking. (10) Verily! When the water rose beyond its limits [Nuh's (Noah) Flood], We carried you (mankind) in the floating [ship that was constructed by Nuh (Noah)]. (11) as a lesson for you, but only attentive ears will retain it. (12) With the first blast of sound from the trumpet, (13) when the earth with all its mountains is lifted up and crushed with a single blow, (14) Then, on that day will the Event befall. (15) and heaven shall be split, for upon that day it shall be very frail, (16) And the angels will be on its sides, and eight angels will, that Day, bear the Throne of your Lord above them. (17) On that day ye will be exposed; not a secret of you will be hidden. (18) Then he that will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Ah here! Read ye my Record! (19) Certainly I thought that I should encounter my reckoning.' (20) Then he will be in blissful state (21) In a lofty Garden (22) Clusters whereof shall be near at hand. (23) Eat and drink at ease for that which you have sent on before you in days past! (24) But he who is given his record in his left hand will say, "If only I had never been given my Record (25) and that we would never knew what our records contained. (26) How I wish my death had ended all. (27) My wealth has not availed me. (28) My authority is gone away from me. (29) 'Take him, and fetter him, (30) "And burn ye him in the Blazing Fire. (31) And string him to a chain seventy cubits long. (32) Lo! He used not to believe in Allah the Tremendous, (33) And urged not on the feeding of Al-Miskin (the poor), (34) So no friend has he here this Day, (35) “Nor any food except the pus discharged from the people of hell.” (36) None will eat except the Khati'un (sinners, disbelievers, polytheists, etc.). (37)
