Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Indubitable! (1) What is the Indubitable? (2) And what can make you know what is the Inevitable Reality? (3) The people of Thamud and Ad denied the Day of Judgment. (4) The Thamuds were destroyed by a violent blast of sound. (5) and as for Ad, they were destroyed by a wind clamorous, (6) which He willed against them for seven nights and eight days without cease, so that in the end thou couldst see those people laid low [in death,] as though they were so many [uprooted] trunks of hollow palm trees: (7) Beholdest thou any of them remaining? (8) And Pharaoh, and those before him, and the Cities Overthrown, committed habitual Sin. (9) and they rebelled against the Messenger of their Lord, and He seized them with a surpassing grip. (10) Surely We bore you up in the ship when the water rose high, (11) That We might make it unto you an admonition, and that it might be retained by the retaining ears. (12) And when the trumpet shall sound one blast (13) And the earth and the mountains will be lifted up and crushed with a single crush. (14) On that day shall the great event come to pass, (15) And the sky will be rent asunder, for on that Day it will be so frail. (16) And the angels will be on its sides; and on that day, eight angels will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. (17) On that day ye will be exposed; not a secret of you will be hidden. (18) Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he will say: Lo! read my book: (19) Indeed, I was certain that I would be meeting my account." (20) He is therefore in the desired serenity. (21) In a lofty Paradise, (22) The fruits in bunches whereof will be low and near at hand. (23) We shall say to him, "Eat and drink joyfully as a reward for the good deeds you did in days gone by." (24) But as for him who will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "I wish that I had not been given my Record! (25) And I had not known what my account was: (26) "Ah! Would that (Death) had made an end of me! (27) "My wealth has not availed me, (28) I am bereft of power." (29) "Seize him and manacle him, (30) Then into Hellfire drive him. (31) then in a chain seventy arm's lengths long insert him. (32) He would not believe in Allah, the Most Great; (33) Nor he urged on others the feeding of the poor. (34) Therefor hath he no lover here this day, (35) and no food except pus (36) Which none but sinners eat. (37)
