Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ The indubitable event! (1) What is the Sure Reality? (2) And what will make thee realise what the Sure Reality is? (3) Thamud and 'Ad people denied the Qari'ah [the striking Hour (of Judgement)]! (4) So as for Thamud, they were destroyed by the overpowering [blast]. (5) And as for 'Aad they were destroyed by a wind, furious, roaring. (6) which God let loose against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you could have seen its people lying prostrate as though they were the hollow trunks of palm-trees which had fallen down. (7) Beholdest thou any of them remaining? (8) And there came Pharaoh and those before him and the overturned cities with sin. (9) And disobeyed (each) the messenger of their Lord; so He punished them with an abundant Penalty. (10) Verily when the water rose to great heights, We bore you upon a floating vessel (i.e. the Ark) (11) that We might make it a reminder for you and for heeding ears to hold. (12) And when the trumpet is blown with a single blast, (13) the earth and mountains will be raised up high and crushed all together. (14) Then on that Day shall the (Great) Event befall, (15) The sky will cleave asunder on that day and fall to pieces. (16) And the angels are at its edges. And there will bear the Throne of your Lord above them, that Day, eight [of them]. (17) On that day you shall be exposed to view-- no secret of yours shall remain hidden. (18) Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he shall say, 'Here, take and read my book! (19) Verily I was sure that I should be a meeter of my reckoning. (20) So he shall be in a life, well-pleasing. (21) In an elevated garden, (22) its clusters nigh to gather. (23) [And all who are thus blest will be told:] "Eat and drink with good cheer in return for all [the good deeds] that you have sent ahead in days gone by!" (24) As for him whose Record will be given to him in his left hand, he will exclaim: “Would that I had never been given my Record, (25) And had not known what is my account. (26) Oh, would that it had been death! (27) “My wealth did not in the least benefit me.” (28) and my authority has been destroyed' (29) "Seize him and manacle him, (30) And then expose him to hell-fire (31) then in a chain of seventy cubits' length insert him! (32) He would not believe in Allah, the Most Great; (33) and he never urged the feeding of the needy; (34) That is why he has no friend today, (35) and has no food except the filth from the washing of wounds, (36) None will eat it except the sinners.
