Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ The Resurrection Verifier; (1) How tremendous is the true event! (2) Would that you knew (in detail) what the Inevitable is! (3) The tribes of Thamud and A’ad denied the event of great dismay. (The Day of Resurrection) (4) The Thamuds were destroyed by a violent blast of sound. (5) And the 'Ad were destroyed by the furious cold blast of roaring wind (6) which God let loose against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you could have seen its people lying prostrate as though they were the hollow trunks of palm-trees which had fallen down. (7) and dost thou now see any remnant of them? (8) Then came the Pharaoh, and those before him whose habitations were overthrown while they were committing crimes. (9) and rebelled against their Sustainer's apostles: and so He took them to task with a punishing grasp exceedingly severe! (10) [And] behold: when the waters [of Noah's flood] burst beyond all limits, it was We who caused you to be borne [to safety] in that floating ark, (11) So that We may make it a reminder to you, and that the retaining ear might retain it. (12) And when the trumpet shall sound a single blast. (13) and the earth and the mountains are carried aloft and are crushed to bits at one stroke, (14) On that day shall the great event come to pass, (15) And the heaven will split [open], for that Day it is infirm. (16) And the angels will be on its sides, and eight will, that Day, bear the Throne of thy Lord above them. (17) That will be the Day when you shall be brought forth (before Allah) and no secret of yours shall remain hidden. (18) Now as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, he will exclaim: "Come you all!" Read this my record! (19) Surely I knew that I shall meet my account. (20) Then he shall be in a life well-pleasing (21) in a lofty paradise, (22) its clusters nigh to gather. (23) (And it will be said unto those therein): Eat and drink at ease for that which ye sent on before you in past days. (24) And he that will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "Ah! Would that my Record had not been given to me! (25) And not known my account! (26) "Ah! Would that (Death) had made an end of me! (27) Of no use was even my wealth. (28) There hath perished from me my authority. (29) Lay hold on him, then put a chain on him, (30) Roast him in Hell, (31) and then thrust him into a chain [of other sinners like him - a chain] the length whereof is seventy cubits: (32) He did not believe in Allah, the Great, (33) Nor he urged on others the feeding of the poor. (34) Therefore he has not here today a true friend, (35) Nor any food except filth from the washing of wounds, (36) None will eat it except the sinners. (37)
