Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ OH, THE LAYING-BARE of the truth! (1) What is the Inevitable? (2) And what shall make thee know that which the Inevitable Calamity is. (3) Thamood and Ad cried lies to the Clatterer. (4) As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the lightning. (5) And as for A’ad, they were destroyed by a severe thundering windstorm. (6) that He subjected upon them for seven nights and eight days consecutively and you might have seen them struck down as if they were the stumps of palm trees that had fallen down. (7) So do you see any survivor among them? (8) And Firon and those before him and the overthrown cities continuously committed sins. (9) And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, so He seized them with a seizure exceeding [in severity]. (10) Lo! when the waters rose, We carried you upon the ship (11) That We might make it a remembrance for you, and the keen ear (person) may (hear and) understand it. (12) So when the Trumpet will be blown, with a sudden single blow. (13) And the earth and the mountains are borne away and crushed with a single crushing. (14) On that day, the inevitable event will take place (15) And the sky will be rent asunder, for it will that Day be flimsy, (16) And the angels will be on its sides, and eight angels will, that Day, bear the Throne of your Lord above them. (17) On that Day you will be brought to judgement and none of your secrets will remain hidden. (18) Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he shall say, 'Here, take and read my book! (19) Surely I knew that I shall meet my account. (20) So he will be in a pleasant life - (21) in a lofty garden, (22) Its [fruit] to be picked hanging near. (23) We shall say to him, "Eat and drink joyfully as a reward for the good deeds you did in days gone by." (24) But as for him who is given his record in his left hand, he will say: Oh, would that I had not been given my book (25) And I had not known what my account was: (26) Would that it (my death) had ended it all! (27) My wealth has not helped me a thing (28) and our belief has destroyed us". (29) Seize him and fetter him, (30) Then throw him in the blazing Fire. (31) “Then bind him inside a chain which is seventy arm-lengths.” (32) He did not believe in Allah, the Great, (33) Nor did he urge the feeding of the poor. (34) So there is not for him here this Day any devoted friend (35) Nor any food save filthy corruption. (36) which only the sinners eat". (37)
