Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Inevitable Reality - (1) What is the Reality? (2) And what could make thee conceive what that laying-bare of the truth will be? (3) The people of Thamud and Ad denied the Day of Judgment. (4) So regarding the Thamud, they were destroyed by a terrible scream. (5) and as for the 'Ad - they were destroyed by a storm wind furiously raging, (6) He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down! (7) Now dost thou see any remnant of them? (8) And Pharaoh, and those before him, and the Cities Overthrown, committed habitual Sin. (9) When they disobeyed the apostle of their Lord He seized them with an overwhelming punishment. (10) [And] behold: when the waters [of Noah's flood] burst beyond all limits, it was We who caused you to be borne [to safety] in that floating ark, (11) so that We might make it a reminder for you and so that attentive ears might retain it. (12) So, when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast (13) And the earth and the mountains are lifted and leveled with one blow - (14) Then on that Day shall the (Great) Event befall, (15) And the heaven will split asunder, for that Day it (the heaven will be frail (weak), and torn up, (16) And the angels will be on its sides; and on that day, eight angels will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. (17) On that Day you shall be brought to judgment: not [even] the most hidden of your deeds will remain hidden. (18) Then he that will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Ah here! Read ye my Record! (19) Surely, I knew that I should meet my reckoning," (20) So he shall have an agreeable life (21) In a lofty garden, (22) with its fruits within easy reach. (23) “Eat and drink with pleasure the reward of what you sent ahead, in the past days.” (24) But as for him who is given his record in his left hand, he will say: Oh, would that I had not been given my book (25) And had not known what is my account. (26) Oh! Would that the death that came to me in the world had made an end of me! (27) "Of no profit to me has been my wealth! (28) Gone from me is my authority." (29) 'Take him, and fetter him, (30) Then cast him to be burnt in Hell; (31) "Further, make him march in a chain, whereof the length is seventy cubits! (32) for he did not believe in Almighty God, (33) And urged not on the feeding of Al-Miskin (the poor), (34) So no friend has he here this Day, (35) Nor food other than suppuration (filth) (36) which only the sinners will eat.” (37)
