Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ OH, THE LAYING-BARE of the truth! (1) And what is that indubitable event? (2) And what will make thee realise what the Sure Reality is? (3) Samood and Ad called the striking calamity a lie. (4) So regarding the Thamud, they were destroyed by a terrible scream. (5) and the Ad were destroyed by a furiously raging wind-storm (6) Which He made to prevail against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you might have seen the people therein prostrate as if they were the trunks of hollow palms. (7) So do you see any survivor among them? (8) And Pharaoh, and those before him, and the Cities Overthrown, committed habitual Sin. (9) They therefore disobeyed the Noble Messengers of their Lord so He seized them with an intense seizure. (10) We, when the water (of Noah's Flood) overflowed beyond its limits, carried you (mankind), in the floating (Ark), (11) as a lesson for you, but only attentive ears will retain it. (12) Then when the Horn is blown with one blast (13) And the earth with the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with one crash, (14) Then on that Day, the Resurrection will occur, (15) And the heaven will split asunder, for that Day it (the heaven will be frail (weak), and torn up, (16) And the angels will be on its sides; and on that day, eight angels will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. (17) That Day, you will be exhibited [for judgement]; not hidden among you is anything concealed. (18) Then he that will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Ah here! Read ye my Record! (19) I was sure that the record of my deeds would be shown to me". (20) So he will be in a pleasant life - (21) In a lofty Garden (22) with clusters of fruit within easy reach. (23) “Eat and drink with pleasure the reward of what you sent ahead, in the past days.” (24) But he who is given his record in his left hand will say, "If only I had never been given my Record (25) and neither known this my account! (26) I wish death had put an end to me. (27) My wealth hath not availed me, (28) I am bereft of power." (29) (It will be said): 'Take him and bind him. (30) Then into Hellfire drive him. (31) “Then bind him inside a chain which is seventy arm-lengths.” (32) Surely he did not believe in Allah, the Great, (33) Nor he urged on others the feeding of the poor. (34) Today he shall have no loyal friend here, (35) and no food except pus (36) which only the sinners eat". (37)
