Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The Inevitable Calamity! (1) What is the Inevitable Calamity? (2) And what shall make thee know that which the Inevitable Calamity is. (3) Thamud and 'Aad denied the Striking Calamity. (4) As for Thamood, they were destroyed by the Screamer; (5) And as to Ad, they were destroyed by a roaring, violent blast. (6) that He subjected upon them for seven nights and eight days consecutively and you might have seen them struck down as if they were the stumps of palm trees that had fallen down. (7) and dost thou now see any remnant of them? (8) And Pharaoh, and those before him, and the Cities Overthrown, committed habitual Sin. (9) and rebelled against their Sustainer's apostles: and so He took them to task with a punishing grasp exceedingly severe! (10) When the water rose in flood, We bore you in the ark, (11) That We might make it a remembrance for you, and the keen ear (person) may (hear and) understand it. (12) So when the Trumpet will be blown, with a sudden single blow. (13) And the earth and the mountains will be lifted up and crushed with a single crush. (14) So that is the day when the forthcoming event will occur. (15) and the heavens will be rent asunder, (16) and the angels [will appear] at its ends, and above them, eight will bear aloft on that Day the throne of thy Sustainer's almightiness… (17) You will then be set before Him, and not one of you will remain unexposed. (18) Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he will say: Lo! read my book: (19) Indeed, I knew that I should come to my reckoning' (20) He is therefore in the desired serenity. (21) in a lofty garden, (22) Its [fruit] to be picked hanging near. (23) “Eat and drink with pleasure the reward of what you sent ahead, in the past days.” (24) But as for him whose record shall be placed in his left hand, he will exclaim: "Oh, would that I had never been shown this my record, (25) and not known my reckoning! (26) "Ah! Would that (Death) had made an end of me! (27) My wealth hath not availed me, (28) “All my power has vanished.” (29) (It will be said): Take him and fetter him (30) Then throw him in the blazing Fire. (31) Then, in a chain whereof the length is seventy Cubits, bind him. (32) for he did not believe in Almighty God, (33) Nor urged others to feed the poor. (34) Therefor hath he no lover here this day, (35) and has no food except the filth from the washing of wounds, (36) which none but the sinners eat!" (37)
