Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ The indubitable event! (1) What is the Inevitable Reality? (2) And what will make you realize what the Inevitable Hour is? (3) Thamood and Aad belied the Clatterer. (4) Now as for the Thamud - they were destroyed by a violent upheaval [of the earth]; (5) And as for 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious violent wind; (6) that He subjected upon them for seven nights and eight days consecutively and you might have seen them struck down as if they were the stumps of palm trees that had fallen down. (7) Then do you see of them any remains? (8) And Firon and those before him and the overthrown cities continuously committed sins. (9) They therefore disobeyed the Noble Messengers of their Lord so He seized them with an intense seizure. (10) Verily when the water rose to great heights, We bore you upon a floating vessel (i.e. the Ark) (11) that We might make it a reminder for you and for heeding ears to hold. (12) So, when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast (13) and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and then crushed with a single blow, (14) On that Day shall the (Great) Event come to pass. (15) And the heaven will split asunder, for that day it will be frail. (16) The angels will stand on all its sides. And on that Day, eight (of them) will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. (17) On that Day you shall be brought to judgment: not [even] the most hidden of your deeds will remain hidden. (18) Then, he who is given his book in his right hand will say: 'Here, take and read my book! (19) "I did really understand that my Account would (One Day) reach me!" (20) And he will be in a life of Bliss, (21) In a lofty Paradise, (22) With fruits hanging low within reach, (23) "Eat ye and drink ye, with full satisfaction; because of the (good) that ye sent before you, in the days that are gone!" (24) But as for him who is given his record in his left hand, he will say: Oh, would that I had not been given my book (25) Nor that I knew my reckoning! (26) Would that it (my death) had ended it all! (27) Of no avail to me is all that I have [ever] possessed, (28) and my authority has vanished.” (29) Seize him and fetter him, (30) Then into Hellfire drive him. (31) Then thrust him into a chain the length of which is seventy cubits. (32) “Indeed he refused to accept faith in Allah, the Greatest.” (33) “And did not urge to feed the needy.” (34) Therefor hath he no lover here this day, (35) nor any food except foul pus (36) None will eat it except the sinners. (37)
