Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Inevitable! (Day of Judgment). (1) What is the Inevitable Hour? (2) Ah, what will convey unto thee what the reality is! (3) (The tribes of) Thamud and A'ad disbelieved in the judgment to come. (4) So as for Thamud, they were destroyed by the overpowering [blast]. (5) And the 'Ad were destroyed by the furious cold blast of roaring wind (6) To which He subjected them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that thou mightest have seen men during it lying prostrate, as though they were stumps of palms ruined. (7) Canst thou (O Muhammad) see any remnant of them? (8) The Pharaoh, those who lived before him and the people of the Subverted Cities all persisted in doing evil. (9) They did not follow the Messenger of their Lord, and so He seized them with a severe grip. (10) Verily! When the water rose beyond its limits [Nuh's (Noah) Flood], We carried you (mankind) in the floating [ship that was constructed by Nuh (Noah)]. (11) so that We might make it an instructive event for you, and retentive ears might preserve its memory. (12) When a single blow is blown on the Horn, (13) And the earth and the mountains shall be removed from their places, and crushed with a single crushing, (14) On that Day will come what is to come. (15) And the heaven will split [open], for that Day it is infirm. (16) and the angels will stand on the sides, with eight of them bearing aloft the Throne of your Lord on that Day. (17) On that Day you shall be brought to judgment: not [even] the most hidden of your deeds will remain hidden. (18) Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he shall say, 'Here, take and read my book! (19) "I did really understand that my Account would (One Day) reach me!" (20) So he shall be in a life of pleasure, (21) in a lofty Garden, (22) The fruits in bunches whereof will be low and near at hand. (23) Eat and drink with benefit for that which ye sent on beforehand in days past. (24) And as for him who is given his book in his left hand he shall say: O would that my book had never been given me: (25) "And that I had never realised how my account (stood)! (26) Oh, would that this [death of mine] had been the end of me! (27) My wealth has availed me nothing: (28) I am bereft of power." (29) (It will be said): Take him and fetter him (30) Then in the Scorch roast him (31) then fasten him with a chain, seventy cubits long. (32) they did not believe in the great God, (33) And urged not on the feeding of Al-Miskin (the poor), (34) “So he does not have any friend here this day.” (35) Nor any food except refuse, (36) which only the sinners eat". (37)
