Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ OH, THE LAYING-BARE of the truth! (1) What is the Indubitable? (2) What makes you to know what the Resurrection Verifier is? (3) (The tribes of) Thamud and A'ad disbelieved in the judgment to come. (4) So destroyed were the Thamud by a storm of thunder and lightning; (5) And as for 'Aad, they were destroyed by a screaming, violent wind (6) He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down! (7) Do you now see any trace of them? (8) And Firaun, and those before him, and the dwellings that were inverted and thrown, had brought error. (9) And they disobeyed the Apostle of their Lord, so He punished them with a vehement punishment. (10) But We bore you away in the Ark, when the waters rose high, (11) that We might make it a reminder for you and for heeding ears to hold. (12) With the first blast of sound from the trumpet, (13) And the earth and mountains heaved and crushed to powder with one levelling blow, (14) Then, on that day will the Event befall. (15) And the heaven will split asunder, for that Day it (the heaven will be frail (weak), and torn up, (16) and the angels will stand on the sides, with eight of them bearing aloft the Throne of your Lord on that Day. (17) The Day whereon ye shall be mustered nothing hidden by you shall be hidden. (18) Then as to him who will be vouchsafed his book in his right hand, he shall say: here! read my book! (19) I was certain I'll be given my account." (20) So he will be in a pleasant life - (21) In a lofty Garden (22) with its fruits within easy reach. (23) [And all who are thus blest will be told:] "Eat and drink with good cheer in return for all [the good deeds] that you have sent ahead in days gone by!" (24) And he that will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "Ah! Would that my Record had not been given to me! (25) and had not known my account. (26) Oh, would that it had been death! (27) Of no avail to me is all that I have [ever] possessed, (28) There hath perished from me my authority. (29) (It will be said): 'Take him and bind him. (30) “Then hurl him into the blazing fire.” (31) And then insert him in a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits. (32) for, behold, he did not believe in God, the Tremendous, (33) “And did not urge to feed the needy.” (34) Today he shall have no loyal friend here, (35) nor any food except foul pus (36) "Which none do eat but those in sin." (37)
