Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Calamity! (1) What is the Reality? (2) And what could make thee conceive what that laying-bare of the truth will be? (3) The tribes of Thamud and A’ad denied the event of great dismay. (The Day of Resurrection) (4) So destroyed were the Thamud by a storm of thunder and lightning; (5) and the 'Ad were destroyed by a furious wind (6) which continued to strike them for seven nights and eight days so that eventually you could see the people lying dead like the hollow trunks of uprooted palm-trees. (7) Then seest thou any of them left surviving? (8) And Fir'aun (Pharaoh), and those before him, and the cities overthrown [the towns of the people of [Lout (Lot)] committed sin, (9) And they disobeyed their Lord's Messenger, so He punished them with a strong punishment. (10) Indeed when the water swelled up, We boarded you onto the ship. (11) That We might make it a remembrance for you, and the keen ear (person) may (hear and) understand it. (12) When a single blow is blown on the Horn, (13) and the earth and the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with a single stroke! (14) On that Day will come what is to come. (15) And the heaven shall be rent in sunder, it on that Day shall be frail. (16) And the angels shall be on the sides thereof; and above them eight shall bear on that day your Lord's power. (17) That Day shall ye be brought to Judgment: not an act of yours that ye hide will be hidden. (18) Now as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, he will exclaim: "Come you all!" Read this my record! (19) "I did really understand that my Account would (One Day) reach me!" (20) And he will be in a life of Bliss, (21) In high empyrean (22) its fruits are near. (23) Such people will be told, "Eat and drink with pleasure as the reward for what you did in the past". (24) However, those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their left hands will say, "We wish that this record had never been given to us (25) "And that I had never known, how my Account is? (26) "I wish, would that it had been my end (death)! (27) My wealth has not availed me. (28) and my authority has been destroyed' (29) (It will be said): 'Take him and bind him. (30) Roast him in Hell, (31) And string him to a chain seventy cubits long. (32) Verily, He used not to believe in Allah, the Most Great, (33) nor did he feel any urge to feed the needy, (34) Therefor hath he no lover here this day, (35) Nor any food except refuse, (36) None will eat except the Khati'un (sinners, disbelievers, polytheists, etc.). (37)
