Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Inevitable Reality - (1) What is the Inevitable Calamity? (2) And what will make you know what the Reality is? (3) Thamud and 'Aad denied the Striking Calamity. (4) As for Thamood, they were destroyed by the Screamer; (5) as for Aad, they were destroyed by a howling, violent wind (6) Which He imposed on them for seven long nights and eight long days so that thou mightest have seen men lying overthrown, as they were hollow trunks of palm-trees. (7) Do you see any remnants of them? (8) And Fir'aun (Pharaoh), and those before him, and the cities overthrown [the towns of the people of [Lout (Lot)] committed sin, (9) and rebelled against their Lord's Messenger. So He took them with a stern taking. (10) Verily We! when the water rose, We bare you upon the traversing ark. (11) That We might make it a Message unto you, and that ears (that should hear the tale and) retain its memory should bear its (lessons) in remembrance. (12) So when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast (13) And the earth and the mountains will be lifted up and crushed with a single crush. (14) on that Day, the Event occurs. (15) The heaven will be split; because on that Day it will be frail. (16) and the angels [will appear] at its ends, and above them, eight will bear aloft on that Day the throne of thy Sustainer's almightiness… (17) You will then be set before Him, and not one of you will remain unexposed. (18) Then he that will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Ah here! Read ye my Record! (19) “I was certain that I will confront my account.” (20) And so he will find himself in a happy state of life, (21) in a lofty paradise, (22) with fruits within easy reach. (23) Eat and drink with benefit for that which ye sent on beforehand in days past. (24) But as for him who is given his record in his left hand, he will say: Oh, would that I had not been given my book (25) "And that I had never known, how my Account is? (26) Oh, would that it had been death! (27) My wealth hath not availed me, (28) [and] all my power of argument has died away from me!" (29) (A command will be issued): “Seize him and shackle him, (30) “Then hurl him into the blazing fire.” (31) Then thrust him into a chain the length of which is seventy cubits. (32) Verily, He used not to believe in Allah, the Most Great, (33) nor would he urge the feeding of the poor. (34) “So he does not have any friend here this day.” (35) nor any food save the filth (36) which only the sinners will eat.” (37)
