Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ The true event! 1 What is the Inevitable Reality? 2 And what have you understood, how tremendous the true event is! 3 THE LIE gave [the tribes of] Thamud and 'Ad to [all tidings of] that sudden calamity! 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the awful cry! 5 The Ads were destroyed by a swift, destructive gale 6 violent that He compelled against them seven nights and eight days, uninterruptedly, and thou mightest see the people laid prostrate in it as if they were the stumps of fallen down palm-trees. 7 Can you see any remnant of them now? 8 And Pharaoh and those before him, and the communities that were destroyed, brought error, 9 And they disobeyed their Lord's Messenger, so He punished them with a strong punishment. 10 Verily! When the water rose beyond its limits [Nuh's (Noah) Flood], We carried you (mankind) in the floating [ship that was constructed by Nuh (Noah)]. 11 In order to make it a warning for you, and that the ear retentive may preserve it. 12 And when the trumpet shall sound a single blast. 13 And the earth and the mountains shall be borne and the twain shall be crushed with a single crash. 14 So that is the day when the forthcoming event will occur. 15 The heaven will be split; because on that Day it will be frail. 16 and will turn frail, losing all force. The angels will be around the heavens and on that day eight of them will carry the Throne of your Lord above all the creatures. 17 On that day you shall be exposed to view-- no secret of yours shall remain hidden. 18 Then he who is given his record in his right hand will exclaim, "Here is my record, read it. 19 "Surely, I did believe that I shall meet my Account!" 20 Then he shall be in a life well-pleasing 21 In a high garden 22 Clusters whereof shall be near at hand. 23 Such people will be told, "Eat and drink with pleasure as the reward for what you did in the past". 24 And he that will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "Ah! Would that my Record had not been given to me! 25 And not known my account! 26 Would that death had taken us away for good. 27 My wealth has not availed me. 28 and my authority has vanished.” 29 "Seize him and manacle him, 30 And then expose him to hell-fire 31 And string him to a chain seventy cubits long. 32 they did not believe in the great God, 33 nor did he feel any urge to feed the needy, 34 "So no friend hath he here this Day. 35 nor any food save the filth 36 "Which none do eat but those in sin." 37
