Juz 29
Kingship (Al-Mulk)
30 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Mountain (Al-Toor) before Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Blessed is He in whose hand is the Kingdom: He has power over all things; (1) [He] who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed - and He is the Exalted in Might, the Forgiving - (2) The One Who created the seven heavens atop each other; do you see any discrepancy in the creation of the Most Gracious? Therefore lift your gaze do you see any cracks? (3) Look twice (and keep on looking), your eyes will only become dull and tired. (4) We have adorned the lower heaven with lamps, and have made them a means to drive away the satans. We have prepared for them the chastisement of the Blazing Fire. (5) And for those who disbelieve in their Lord there is the doom of hell, a hapless journey's end! (6) When they are cast into it they shall hear it sighing, while it boils (7) as though bursting with rage. Each time a group is cast into it, its keepers will ask them, "Did no warner come to you?" (8) They say: Yea, verily, a warner came unto us; but we denied and said: Allah hath naught revealed; ye are in naught but a great error. (9) And they will say, “Had we listened or understood, we would not have been among the people of hell.” (10) and thus they will confess their sin; far from God's mercy are the inmates of Hell. (11) Indeed, those who fear their Lord unseen will have forgiveness and great reward. (12) (Whether you) speak in secret or aloud, He knows the innermost of the chests. (13) What! Will He Who has created not know? Whereas He knows every detail, the All Aware! (14)
