Kingship (Al-Mulk)
30 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Mountain (Al-Toor) before Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Blessed is He in Whose Hand is the dominion of the Universe, and Who has power over everything; (1) Who hath created life and death that He may try you which of you is best in conduct; and He is the Mighty, the Forgiving, (2) who created the seven heavens, one above the other. You cannot see any inconsistency in the creation of the Merciful. Return your gaze, do you see any crack! (3) Turn your eyes again and again. Your gaze turns back dazed and tired. (4) And indeed, We have adorned the skies nearest to the earth with lights, and have made them the object of futile guesses for the evil ones [from among men]: and for them have We readied suffering through a blazing flame (5) The chastisement of Hell awaits those who disbelieve in their Lord. What a wretched destination! (6) When they will be cast into it, they will hear it roar as it boils, (7) It almost bursts up with fury. Every time a group is cast therein, its keeper will ask: "Did no warner come to you?" (8) 'Yes, indeed' they will reply, 'but we belied the Warner (Messenger) saying: 'Allah has not sent down anything, you are but in great error' (9) They will say, "If we had only listened or understood, we should not now be among the inmates of Hell," (10) So they shall acknowledge their sins, but far will be (forgiveness) from the inmates of the burning fire. (11) Verily those who dread their Lord unseen, theirs shall be forgiveness and a great hire. (12) And whether ye hide your word or publish it, He certainly has (full) knowledge, of the secrets of (all) hearts. (13) What! Will He Who has created not know? Whereas He knows every detail, the All Aware! (14)
