Juz 29
Kingship (Al-Mulk)
30 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Mountain (Al-Toor) before Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ HALLOWED be He in whose hand all dominion rests, since He has the power to will anything: (1) Who has created death and life, that He may test you which of you is best in deed. And He is the All-Mighty, the Oft-Forgiving; (2) who created the seven heavens, one above the other. You cannot see any inconsistency in the creation of the Merciful. Return your gaze, do you see any crack! (3) Look twice (and keep on looking), your eyes will only become dull and tired. (4) We have decked the lowest heavens with torches. With these torches We have stoned the devils and We have prepared for them the torment of hell. (5) For those who have disbelieved in their Lord, We have prepared the torment of hell, the most terrible place to return. (6) When they are cast into it, they will hear it roar and raging (7) As though it would burst with fury. Every time a crowd is thrown into it, its wardens will ask: "Did no warner come to you?" (8) They will say: yea! surely there came a warner unto us, but we belied, and said: God hath not sent down aught, we are naught but in a great error. (9) And they will add: "Had we but listened [to those warnings,] or [at least] used our own reason, we would not [now] be among those who are destined for the blazing flame!" (10) So they shall acknowledge their sins, but far will be (forgiveness) from the inmates of the burning fire. (11) Indeed for those who fear their Lord without seeing is forgiveness, and a great reward. (12) Whether you speak in secret or aloud, He knows what is in every heart. (13) Does the One Who is Subtle, All-aware, and Who created all things not know all about them? (14)
