Kingship (Al-Mulk)
30 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Mountain (Al-Toor) before Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Blessed is He in Whose hand is the kingdom, and He has power over all things, (1) It is He who has created death and life to put you to the test and see which of you is most virtuous in your deeds. He is Majestic and All-forgiving. (2) Who created the seven heavens one above another; you see no incongruity in the creation of the Beneficent Allah; then look again, can you see any disorder? (3) Look twice (and keep on looking), your eyes will only become dull and tired. (4) And We have certainly beautified the nearest heaven with stars and have made [from] them what is thrown at the devils and have prepared for them the punishment of the Blaze. (5) And for those who disbelieved in their Lord, is the punishment of hell; and what a wretched outcome! (6) When they are cast into that [hell,] they will hear its breath indrawing as it boils up, (7) as though bursting with rage. Each time a group is cast into it, its keepers will ask them, "Did no warner come to you?" (8) They say, 'Yes indeed, a warner came to us; but we cried lies, saying, "God has not sent down anything; you are only in great error. (9) They will say: 'If we had only listened and understood, we would not be among the inmates of the Blazing Fire.'” (10) And they will admit their sin, so [it is] alienation for the companions of the Blaze. (11) But those who fear their Lord in the Unseen, for them there is forgiveness and a great wage. (12) Whether you conceal what you say or reveal it, God knows best all that the hearts contain. (13) Should He not know,- He that created? and He is the One that understands the finest mysteries (and) is well-acquainted (with them). (14)
