Mutual Blaming (Al-Taghaabun)
18 verses, revealed in Medina after Prohibition (Al-Tahreem) before The Column (Al-Suff)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
All that is in the heavens and on the earth extols the glory of God. To Him belongs the Kingdom and to Him all praise is due. He has power over all things. (1) It is He who created you, and among you is the disbeliever, and among you is the believer. And Allah, of what you do, is Seeing. (2) He created the heavens and the earth for a purpose. He formed you and gave you the best of forms. To Him you shall all return. (3) He knows all that is in the heavens and the earth and all that you reveal or conceal. God knows best whatever the hearts contain. (4) Has there not come to you the story of those who disbelieved before, then tasted the evil result of their conduct, and they had a painful punishment? (5) This is because their Noble Messengers used to bring clear proofs to them, in response they said, “What! Will humans show us the way?”; they therefore became disbelievers and turned away, and Allah acted independently; and Allah is the Independent, the Most Praiseworthy. (6) The unbelievers assert that they will never be raised up. Say: 'Yes indeed, by my Lord! You shall be raised up, then you shall be told the things you did. That is easy for God.' (7) Therefore accept faith in Allah and His Noble Messenger and the light which We have sent down; and Allah is Well Aware of what you do. (8) (And remember) the Day when He will gather you (all) on the Day of Gathering, that will be the Day of mutual loss and gain (i.e. loss for the disbelievers as they will enter the Hell-fire and gain for the believers as they will enter Paradise). And whosoever believes in Allah and performs righteous good deeds, He will remit from him his sins, and will admit him to Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise) to dwell therein forever, that will be the great success. (9) As for those who have disbelieved and rejected Our revelations, they will dwell forever in hell fire, a terrible fate. (10)
