The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The Beneficent Allah, (1) has imparted this Qur'an [unto man]. (2) He hath created man. (3) and He has taught him the Explanation. (4) The sun and the moon are in a reckoning. (5) And the herbs and the trees do obeisance. (6) And the heaven, He raised it high, and He made the balance (7) That you may not be inordinate in respect of the measure. (8) And establish the measures justly, nor decrease the due weight. (9) And He appointed the earth for the creatures. (10) Therein is fruit and palms having sheathed clusters, (11) And the grain with (its) husk and fragrance. (12) How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? (13) He created man from clay like [that of] pottery. (14) And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. (15) Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? (16) [He is] the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunrise, and the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunset. (17) Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? (18) He hath let loose the two seas. (19) In-between the twain is a barrier which they pass not. (20) So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? (21) Out of these two [bodies of water] come forth pearls, both great and small. (22) Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? (23) By His command, the ships with raised masts sail on the sea like mountains. (24) Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? (25)
