The Moon (Al-Qamar)
55 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Comet (Al-Taareq) before S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
The hour drew nigh and the moon did rend asunder. (1) And if they see a sign, they turn away, and say: "This is continuous magic." (2) They belied (the Verses of Allah, this Quran), and followed their own lusts. And every matter will be settled [according to the kind of deeds (for the doer of good deeds, his deeds will take him to Paradise, and similarly evil deeds will take their doers to Hell)]. (3) And there has already come to them of information that in which there is deterrence - (4) Perfect wisdom (this Quran), but (the preaching of) warners benefit them not, (5) So withdraw from them (O Muhammad) on the day when the Summoner summoneth unto a painful thing. (6) they will come out of their graves, their eyes cast down, hastening towards their Summoner as locusts rushing about. (7) They will hasten forward to the caller, gazes fixed. And the unbelievers will say: "This is the day of untold woe." (8) ۞ There belied before them the people of Nuh. So they belied Our bondman and said: a madman; and moreover he was reproven. (9) He therefore prayed to his Lord, “I am overpowered, therefore avenge me.” (10) We opened the gates of the sky and water started to pour down. (11) And caused springs to gush out from the earth, so that the two waters met totalling a quantity that had been destined. (12) but him We bore on that [vessel] made of [mere] planks and nails, (13) which floated on the water before Our very eyes. The flood was a recompense for the deeds of the disbelievers. (14) And certainly We left it as a sign, but is there anyone who (15) How (great) was then My punishment and My warning! (16) And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember? (17) Aad too belied. How then were My punishment and My warnings! (18) We loosed against them a wind clamorous in a day of ill fortune continuous, (19) which hurled people around like uprooted trunks of palm-trees. (20) How (great) was then My punishment and My warning! (21) And in truth We have made the Qur'an easy to remember; but is there any that remembereth? (22)
