Didst thou (O Muhammad) observe him who turned away, 33 who at first gave a little, then later held back? 34 Is with him the knowledge of the unseen so that he sees? 35 Has he not been made acquainted with what was written in the scriptures of Moses? 36 And [of] Abraham, who fulfilled [his obligations] - 37 That no one who carries a burden bears another's load; 38 nor can man achieve anything without hard labor. 39 And that his effort will be seen. 40 then, he shall be recompensed for it in full repayment 41 And that to your Lord is the goal- 42 That it is He Who granteth Laughter and Tears; 43 And that He it is Who causes death and gives life- 44 and that He Himself created the two sexes: male and female, 45 out of a [mere] drop of sperm as it is poured forth, 46 That the second creation is incumbent on Him; 47 That it is He who makes you rich and contented; 48 It is He who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 It is He who utterly destroyed the ancient tribes of Ad, 50 and Thamud tribes, 51 And before them, the people of Nooh? Indeed they were more unjust and more rebellious than these! 52 And the overturned towns He hurled down 53 so that there came upon them that which came. 54 About which, then, of thy Sustainer's powers canst thou [still] remain in doubt? 55 He (Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him) is a Herald of Warning, like the former Heralds of Warning. 56 The Day of Resurrection draws near, 57 None, except Allah, can avert it. 58 Does this statement seem strange to them 59 Or do you laugh, and do you not weep 60 while you are thoughtless? 61 So prostrate yourselves before Allah and worship. ۩ 62
God the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Stars (Al-Najm). Sent down in Mecca after Absoluteness (Al-Ikhlaas) before He Frowned ('Abasa)
