The Stars (Al-Najm)
62 verses, revealed in Mecca after Absoluteness (Al-Ikhlaas) before He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the Star when it plunges, (1) your companion is neither astray, neither errs, (2) Neither does he speak of his own will. (3) It is but a divine revelation, which is revealed to him. (4) He has been taught by the Extremely Powerful. (5) Lord of power and wisdom. So he acquired poise and balance, (6) And reached the highest pinnacle. (7) and then drew near, and came close, (8) Till he was (distant) two bows' length or even nearer, (9) and revealed to God's servant what he revealed. (10) His (Muhammad's) heart did not lie to him about what his eyes had seen. (11) Will you then dispute with him (Muhammad SAW) about what he saw [during the Mi'raj: (Ascent of the Prophet SAW over the seven heavens)]. (12) He certainly saw him (Gabriel) during his other ascent (13) at the Lote Tree (Sidrat tree) of the ending (14) Close to which is the Garden of Tranquility, (15) When that which covers covered the lote-tree; (16) The eye did not turn aside, nor did it exceed the limit. (17) Indeed, he saw one of the greatest signs of his Lord. (18) Have you considered Lat and 'Uzza, (19) And Manat, the third, the other? (20) Do sons belong to you and daughters to God? (21) This indeed is an unjust division! (22) these are nothing but names which you yourselves have devised, you and your forefathers. God has sent down no authority for them. They follow nothing but conjecture and what their own selves desire, even though guidance has already come to them from their Lord! (23) Does man imagine that it is his due to have all that he might wish for, (24) Allah's is the last and the first. (25)
