The Stars (Al-Najm)
62 verses, revealed in Mecca after Absoluteness (Al-Ikhlaas) before He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the declining star, (1) Your companion (Muhammad SAW) has neither gone astray nor has erred. (2) nor does he speak out of desire. (3) It is not but a revelation revealed, (4) Which one of mighty powers hath taught him, (5) The Strong; then the Spectacle inclined towards him. (6) while he was in the highest horizon; (7) Then he approached and descended (8) until he was two bows' length away, or nearer. (9) And he revealed to His Servant what he revealed. (10) His heart lies not of what he saw; (11) Will you then dispute with him as to what he saw? (12) For indeed he saw him at a second descent, (13) At the farthest lote-tree; (14) nigh which is the Garden of the Refuge, (15) When that which shroudeth did enshroud the lote-tree, (16) The sight turned not aside, nor it exceeded. (17) Indeed he saw the supreme signs of his Lord. (18) Have you ever thought about al-Lat and al-Uzza, (19) and your third idol al-Manat (whom you considered as God's daughters)? (20) Are yours the males and His the females? (21) That is indeed an unjust division. (22) They are nothing but some names that you have coined, you and your forefathers Allah has not sent any proof for them; they follow only guesses and their own desires; whereas the guidance from their Lord has come to them. (23) Shall man have whatever he craves? (24) To God belong the End and the Beginning. (25)
