The Stars (Al-Najm)
62 verses, revealed in Mecca after Absoluteness (Al-Ikhlaas) before He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the star when it descends, (1) Your companion [Muhammad] has not strayed, nor has he erred, (2) nor does he speak out of his own desire. (3) This is only revelation communicated, (4) He was taught by one Mighty in Power, (5) One of soundness. And he rose to [his] true form (6) While he was in the highest part of the horizon: (7) then he drew near, and became close (8) Until a space of two bow (arcs) or even less remained, (9) and revealed to God's servant what he revealed. (10) His heart lies not of what he saw; (11) So will you dispute with him over what he saw? (12) And indeed he (Muhammad SAW) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] at a second descent (i.e. another time). (13) at the Lote Tree (Sidrat tree) of the ending (14) Near it is the Paradise of Abode. (15) with the lote-tree veiled in a veil of nameless splendour (16) The eye did not turn aside, nor did it exceed the limit. (17) He certainly saw the greatest (signs) of the existence of his Lord. (18) HAVE YOU, then, ever considered [what you are worshipping in] Al-Lat and Al-Uzza, (19) and about the third deity, al-Manat? (20) Are there sons for you, and daughters for Him? (21) That indeed is a division most unfair! (22) They are naught but names which you have named, you and your fathers; Allah has not sent for them any authority. They follow naught but conjecture and the low desires which (their) souls incline to; and certainly the guidance has come to them from their Lord. (23) What! Will man get whatever he dreams of? (24) To Allah belongs the Eternal life and the first life. (25)
