In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the star when it setteth. (1) That your companion is not confused, nor has he gone astray, (2) Nor does he say (aught) of (his own) Desire. (3) It is a revelations which has been revealed to him (4) He has been taught (this Quran) by one mighty in power [Jibrael (Gabriel)]. (5) Lord of power and wisdom. So he acquired poise and balance, (6) While he was in the higher [part of the] horizon. (7) Thereafter he drew nigh, then he let himself down. (8) And was at a distance of but two bow-lengths or (even) nearer; (9) And He revealed unto His slave that which He revealed. (14) Near it is the Garden of Refuge - (15) When that covered the lote-tree which did cover it! (16) The eye turned not aside nor yet was overbold. (17) Assuredly he beheld of the sign of his Lord, the greatest. (18) Have ye then considered Al-Lat and AL-'uzza: (19) and the third one, Manat? -- (20) Shall you have the male issues, and He the female issues? (21) that, lo and behold, is an unfair division! (24) despite the fact that [both] the life to come and this present [one] belong to God [alone]? (25)
