The Stars (Al-Najm)
62 verses, revealed in Mecca after Absoluteness (Al-Ikhlaas) before He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the Star when it setteth, (1) Your Companion is neither astray nor being misled. (2) nor speaks he out of caprice. (3) It is a revelations which has been revealed to him (4) One of mighty powers hath taught it him. (5) Of might, he (Gabriel) stood firm (6) While he was on the uppermost horizon. (7) and then drew near, and came close, (8) until he was two bows' length away, or nearer. (9) So did (Allah) convey the inspiration to His Servant- (conveyed) what He (meant) to convey. (10) The (Prophet's) heart lied not (in seeing) what he (Muhammad SAW) saw. (11) Will you then dispute with him (Muhammad SAW) about what he saw [during the Mi'raj: (Ascent of the Prophet SAW over the seven heavens)]. (12) Indeed, he saw him another time (13) Nigh unto the lote-tree at the boundary. (14) Close to which is the Everlasting Paradise. (15) when the lote tree was covered in mystic splendour. (16) The sight (of Prophet Muhammad SAW) turned not aside (right or left), nor it transgressed beyond (the) limit (ordained for it). (17) for indeed he saw one of the greatest signs of his Lord. (18) Have you ever thought about al-Lat and al-Uzza, (19) And Manat the other third? (20) Shall you have the male issues, and He the female issues? (21) That is indeed an unfair division! (22) These are nothing but names that you and your forefathers have invented, for which Allah has sent down no authority. They are merely following their conjectures and their carnal desires although guidance has come to them from their Lord. (23) Does man imagine that it is his due to have all that he might wish for, (24) But it is to God that the Hereafter and this world belong. (25)
