62 verses, revealed in Mecca after Absoluteness (Al-Ikhlaas) before He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the declining star, (1) your companion is neither astray, neither errs, (2) And he speaketh not of his own desire. (3) It is naught save an inspiration that is inspired, (4) something that a very powerful one has imparted to him, (5) One of soundness. And he rose to [his] true form (6) And he was on the horizon of the highest heaven. (7) He (Gabriel) then came nearer and nearer. (8) until he was but two bow-lengths away, or even nearer. (9) and revealed to God's servant what he revealed. (10) The heart lied not in that which he saw. (11) will you, then, contend with him as to what he saw? (12) And indeed, he saw him a second time (13) by the lote-tree of the farthest limit, (14) near which is the Garden of Abode. (15) When there covered the Lote Tree that which covered [it]. (16) The sight [of the Prophet] did not swerve, nor did it transgress [its limit]. (17) Indeed he (Muhammad SAW) did see, of the Greatest Signs, of his Lord (Allah). (18) Have ye thought upon Al-Lat and Al-'Uzza (19) And Manat, the third, the last? (20) Is it for you the males and for Him the females? (21) This is certainly an unjust apportioning. (22) These [allegedly divine beings] are nothing but empty names which you have invented - you and your forefathers - [and] for which God has bestowed no warrant from on high. They [who worship them] follow nothing but surmise and their own wishful thinking - although right guidance has now indeed come unto them from their Sustainer. (23) Is the human to have whatever he fancies? (24) despite the fact that [both] the life to come and this present [one] belong to God [alone]? (25)
