Juz 27
The Stars (Al-Najm)
62 verses, revealed in Mecca after Absoluteness (Al-Ikhlaas) before He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the declining star, (1) This fellow-man of yours has not gone astray, nor is he deluded, (2) Nor does he speak of (his own) desire. (3) This is naught but a revelation revealed, (4) He has been taught (this Quran) by one mighty in power [Jibrael (Gabriel)]. (5) One strong of make. Then he stood straight. (6) While he was on the uppermost horizon. (7) Then he drew near, then he bowed (8) And was at a distance of but two bow-lengths or (even) nearer; (9) so (Allah) revealed to His worshiper (Gabriel) that which he revealed (to Prophet Muhammad). (10) The (Prophet's) heart lied not (in seeing) what he (Muhammad SAW) saw. (11) Will you dispute with him what he saw? (12) For indeed he saw him at a second descent, (13) Near the lote-tree of the last boundary. (14) Near it is the Garden of Abode. (15) When that covered the lote-tree which did cover it! (16) His eye did not waver, nor did it stray, (17) For truly did he see, of the Signs of his Lord, the Greatest! (18) Have ye then considered Al-Lat and AL-'uzza: (19) and, another, the third manat? (20) Do sons belong to you and daughters to God? (21) This indeed is an unjust division! (22) They are but names which ye have named, ye and your fathers, for which Allah hath sent down no authority. They follow but their fancy, and that which pleaseth their souls; whereas assuredly there hath come unto them from their Lord the guidance. (23) Can ever man get what he desires? (24) And to God belongs the First and the Last. (25)
