The Stars (Al-Najm)
62 verses, revealed in Mecca after Absoluteness (Al-Ikhlaas) before He Frowned ('Abasa)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the setting star, (1) Your companion (Muhammad SAW) has neither gone astray nor has erred. (2) Neither does he speak of his own will. (3) It is but a divine revelation, which is revealed to him. (4) taught by One who is Stern in power. (5) The Strong; then the Spectacle inclined towards him. (6) While he was in the higher [part of the] horizon. (7) then came down close (8) So the distance between the Spectacle and the beloved was only two arms’ length, or even less. (The Heavenly Journey of Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him was with body and soul.) (9) He revealed to God's servant whatever he wanted. (10) His heart added no untruth to what he saw. (11) Are you, then, going to contend with him regarding what he sees with his eyes? (12) And certainly he saw him descend a second time: (13) to the Lot-tree (in the seven heavens) (14) near which is the Garden of Abode. (15) When there covered the Lote Tree that which covered [it]. (16) (His) sight never swerved, nor did it go wrong! (17) for indeed he saw one of the greatest signs of his Lord. (18) Have ye seen Lat. and 'Uzza, (19) and about the third deity, al-Manat? (20) Shall you have the male issues, and He the female issues? (21) That is indeed an unfair division! (22) these are nothing but names which you yourselves have devised, you and your forefathers. God has sent down no authority for them. They follow nothing but conjecture and what their own selves desire, even though guidance has already come to them from their Lord! (23) Or shall man have whatever he fancies? (24) So (know that) Allah only is the Owner of all the Hereafter and this world. (25)
