The Stars (Al-Najm)
62 verses, revealed in Mecca after Absoluteness (Al-Ikhlaas) before He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the Star when it goes down,- (1) Your companion (Muhammad SAW) has neither gone astray nor has erred. (2) nor does he speak out of his desire. (3) It is not but a revelation revealed, (4) He was taught by [an angel] who is mighty in power, (5) The Strong; then the Spectacle inclined towards him. (6) And reached the highest pinnacle. (7) Then the Spectacle became closer, and came down in full view. (8) So the distance between the Spectacle and the beloved was only two arms’ length, or even less. (The Heavenly Journey of Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him was with body and soul.) (9) And he revealed to His Servant what he revealed. (10) The heart did not deny, what it saw. (The Holy Prophet was bestowed with seeing Allah see also preceding verses 8, 9, 10.) (11) What, will you dispute with him about what he sees! (12) And verily he saw him yet another time (13) by the lote-tree of the farthest limit, (14) Close to which is the Garden of Tranquility, (15) When there comes to the Lote Tree, that which comes (16) (His) sight never swerved, nor did it go wrong! (17) Assuredly he beheld of the sign of his Lord, the greatest. (18) Have ye then considered Al-Lat and AL-'uzza: (19) And Manat (another idol of the pagan Arabs), the other third? (20) Are there sons for you, and daughters for Him? (21) This is an unfair distinction! (22) They are nothing but some names that you have coined, you and your forefathers Allah has not sent any proof for them; they follow only guesses and their own desires; whereas the guidance from their Lord has come to them. (23) Shall man have whatever he craves? (24) Rather, to Allah belongs the Hereafter and the first [life]. (25)
