(Muhammad), remind them, by the Grace of your Lord, that you are neither a soothsayer or an insane person. (29) Do they say: "He is a poet for whom we expect an adverse turn of fortune?" (30) Say: 'Await! I shall be awaiting with you.' (31) Or do their minds command them to [say] this, or are they a transgressing people? (32) Or do they say, 'He has invented it?' Nay, but they do not believe. (33) Let them produce a discourse like it if they are true in their claim. (34) [Or do they deny the existence of God?] Have they themselves been created without anything [that might have caused their creation]? or were they, perchance, their own creators? (35) Or have they created the heavens and the earth? In fact they are certain of nothing. (36) Or do they have your Lord's treasures in their keeping? Or have absolute authority over them? (37) Or have they a stairway (to heaven), by means of which they listen (to the talks of the angels)? Then let their listener produce some manifest proof. (38) Or hath He daughters whereas ye have sons? (39) Or do you demand any wages from them so that they are burdened with expense? (40) Do they possess knowledge of the unseen, so that they can write it down? (41) Or do they want to stage a deception? -- Then only those who do not believe will be the ones who will be tricked. (42) Or do they have a God besides Allah? Purity is to Allah from their ascribing of partners to Him. (43) Even if they saw lumps falling from heaven, they would say, 'A massed cloud!' (44) Therefore leave them, until they confront their day, in which they will be stunned. (45) The Day when their plotting will avail them nothing and no help shall be given them. (46) And there surely awaits the evildoers a chastisement beyond even that, but most of them know it not. (47) And be thou patient under the judgment of thy Lord; surely thou art before Our eyes. And proclaim the praise of thy Lord when thou arisest, (48) And in the night, give Him glory too, and at the setting of the stars. (49)
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
