The Mountain (Al-Toor)
49 verses, revealed in Mecca after Prostration (Al-Sajdah) before Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the Mount (of Revelation); (1) And the Book written (2) On fine parchment unrolled, (3) And the House (Kaaba) that is visited, (4) And the lofty roof. (5) And the sea set aflame. (6) the torment of your Lord will inevitably take place (7) there is no one who could avert it, (8) On the Day the heaven will sway with circular motion (9) and the mountains shudder and shake. (10) Then woe, that Day, to the deniers, (11) those who are in plunging, playing. (12) A day when they will be pushed, forcibly shoved towards the fire of hell. (13) (And it is said unto them): This is the Fire which ye were wont to deny. (14) Is it magic then or do you not see? (15) [Enter to] burn therein; then be patient or impatient - it is all the same for you. You are only being recompensed [for] what you used to do." (16) Those who fear God and follow the straight path will surely be in gardens and in bliss, (17) Rejoicing because of what their Lord gave them, and their Lord saved them from the punishment of the burning fire. (18) Eat and drink with relish for that which ye have been working. (19) reclining on couches [of happiness] ranged in rows!" And [in that paradise] We shall mate them with companions pure, most beautiful of eye. (20) And those who believe and whose progeny follow them in belief. We shall cause their progeny to join them, and We shall not diminish unto them aught of their own work. Every man is for that which he hath earned a pledge. (21) And We will aid them with fruit and flesh such as they desire. (22) They will exchange cups of wine free of (incitement to) pleasantry or sin. (23) ۞ There will circulate among them [servant] boys [especially] for them, as if they were pearls well-protected. (24) And one of them turned towards the other, questioning. (25) Saying, “Indeed before this, we were in our houses, worried.” (26) Then Allah graced us with His favour and saved us from the chastisement of the scorching wind. (27) "Verily, We used to invoke Him (Alone and none else) before. Verily, He is Al-Barr (the Most Subtle, Kind, Courteous, and Generous), the Most Merciful." (28)
