49 verses, revealed in Mecca after Prostration (Al-Sajdah) before Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
CONSIDER Mount Sinai! (1) and by the Scripture penned (2) on parchment for distribution, (3) by the established House (Mecca), (4) and by the lofty vault of the sky, (5) And by the sea kept filled (or it will be fire kindled on the Day of Resurrection). (6) Indeed, the punishment of your Lord will occur. (7) No one can avert it. (8) On the day when the heaven shall move from side to side (9) And the mountains will fly hither and thither. (10) Then woe that day unto the deniers (11) and who indulged in false disputes against (God's revelations). (12) That Day shall they be thrust down to the Fire of Hell, irresistibly. (13) (And it is said unto them): This is the Fire which ye were wont to deny. (14) Is this, then, any feat of magic or are you unable to see? (15) Burn in its heat. It is all the same for you whether you exercise patience or not; This is the recompense for your deeds". (16) Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and bliss (17) enjoying what Allah will have endowed them with; and their Lord will have saved them from the torment of the Blazing Fire. (18) They will be told, "Eat and drink to your heart's delight for what you have done". (19) reclining on couches [of happiness] ranged in rows!" And [in that paradise] We shall mate them with companions pure, most beautiful of eye. (20) And those who believe and whose families follow them in Faith,- to them shall We join their families: Nor shall We deprive them (of the fruit) of aught of their works: (Yet) is each individual in pledge for his deeds. (21) We shall give them fruits and meats, and what they desire. (22) There, they shall pass from hand to hand a cup which does not lead to any idle talk or sin. (23) ۞ And young attendants like pearls within their shells, will go round. (24) And some of them shall advance towards others questioning each other. (25) Saying, “Indeed before this, we were in our houses, worried.” (26) “So Allah did us a great favour, and saved us from the punishment of the flame.” (27) We used to pray to Him erstwhile; He is the just and merciful.
