The Mountain (Al-Toor)
49 verses, revealed in Mecca after Prostration (Al-Sajdah) before Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the Mount (1) and by the Scripture penned (2) In an outstretched fine parchment, (3) by the established House (Mecca), (4) and the uplifted roof (5) And the sea kept filled, (6) Verily, the Torment of your Lord will surely come to pass, (7) there is none to avert it. (8) On the day when the heaven will heave with (awful) heaving, (9) and the mountains are in motion, (10) Woe, then, on that Day to those who give the lie (to this Message) (11) Those who sport entering into vain discourses. (12) The Day they are thrust toward the fire of Hell with a [violent] thrust, [its angels will say], (13) (it will be said to them): 'This is the Fire which you belied! (14) Then is this magic, or do you not see? (15) [Enter to] burn therein; then be patient or impatient - it is all the same for you. You are only being recompensed [for] what you used to do." (16) But in the Gardens the righteous shall live in bliss, (17) rejoicing in all that their Sustainer will have granted them: for their Sustainer will have warded off from them all suffering through the blazing fire. (18) “Eat and drink with pleasure, a reward for what you used to do.” (19) reclining on couches arranged in rows. And We shall wed them to fair maidens with large beautiful eyes. (20) We shall unite the believers with those descendants of theirs who followed them in their faith, and shall not deny them any part of the reward for their good deeds. Every person is pledged to what he did. (21) And We shall increasingly give them fruit and meat such as they desire. (22) They shall there exchange, one with another, a (loving) cup free of frivolity, free of all taint of ill. (23) ۞ and youths, of their own, shall pass among them as if they were hidden pearls. (24) They will turn to one another and ask (regarding the past events). (25) Saying: Surely we feared before on account of our families: (26) But Allah has been gracious to us and He has saved us from the punishment of the hot wind: (27) Verily we were wont to pray unto Him aforetime; verily He! it is He, the Benign, the Merciful.
