The Mountain (Al-Toor)
49 verses, revealed in Mecca after Prostration (Al-Sajdah) before Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the Mount (of Revelation); (1) And a Scripture inscribed (2) In parchment spread open (3) And by oath of the Inhabited House. (4) And by the roof raised high (i.e. the heaven). (5) And by the Ocean filled with Swell;- (6) Indeed, the punishment of your Lord will occur. (7) There shall be none to avert it; (8) On the Day when the heaven will shake with a dreadful shaking, (9) and the mountains shall violently fly about. (10) Will be the day of woe for those (11) and who indulged in false disputes against (God's revelations). (12) A day when they will be pushed, forcibly shoved towards the fire of hell. (13) “This is the Hell which you used to give the lie to.” (14) Was it, then, a delusion or is it that you failed to see [its truth]? (15) [Enter to] burn therein; then be patient or impatient - it is all the same for you. You are only being recompensed [for] what you used to do." (16) But in the Gardens the righteous shall live in bliss, (17) Enjoying in that which their Lord has bestowed on them, and (the fact that) their Lord saved them from the torment of the blazing Fire. (18) Eat and drink with relish for that which ye have been working. (19) reclining on couches [of happiness] ranged in rows!" And [in that paradise] We shall mate them with companions pure, most beautiful of eye. (20) Those who believe, and whose descendants follow in belief, We will join their descendants to them. And We will not reduce them of anything of their deeds. Every one is pledged for what he has earned. (21) And We will aid them with fruit and flesh such as they desire. (22) They will pass cups of un-intoxicating and unsinful wine to one another. (23) ۞ They will be served by youths who will be as beautiful as pearls. (24) They will advance to each other, engaging in mutual enquiry. (25) They will say: "Aforetime, we were not without fear for the sake of our people. (26) "But Allah has been good to us, and has delivered us from the Penalty of the Scorching Wind. (27) before this, we used to pray to Him. Surely, He is the Beneficent, the Merciful." (28)
