The Mountain (Al-Toor)
49 verses, revealed in Mecca after Prostration (Al-Sajdah) before Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the mount. (1) And the Scripture inscribed (2) In parchment unrolled. (3) And the House frequented, (4) By the roof elevated. (5) and by the swelling sea: (6) the punishment of your Lord shall certainly come to pass, (7) none can avert that. (8) On the day when the heavens will swiftly fly (9) And the mountains will fly hither and thither. (10) So woe on that day to those who reject (the truth), (11) Who play in talk of grave matters; (12) The Day when they will be pushed down by force to the Fire of Hell, with a horrible, forceful pushing. (13) "This is the Fire which you used to deny. (14) Is this magic, or do you not see? (15) Now enter it. Whether you behave patiently or impatiently will make no difference: you are only being repaid for what you have done. (16) Truly, the God-fearing will dwell [on that Day] in gardens and in bliss, (17) talking of what they have received from their Lord and of how their Lord has saved them from the torment of hell. (18) (And it is said unto them): Eat and drink in health (as a reward) for what ye used to do, (19) They will recline (with ease) on thrones arranged in ranks. And We shall marry them to Houris (female, fair ones) with wide lovely eyes. (20) And those who believed, and their seed followed them in belief, We shall join their seed with them, and We shall not defraud them of aught of their work; every man shall be pledged for what he earned. (21) We shall give them fruits and meats, and what they desire. (22) There they pass from hand to hand a cup wherein is neither vanity nor cause of sin. (23) ۞ They will be served by youths who will be as beautiful as pearls. (24) They will converse with one another, putting questions to each other, (25) Saying: "We were also once full of fear at home. (26) But God has granted us favors and saved us from the scorching heat of the torment. (27) before this, we used to pray to Him. Surely, He is the Beneficent, the Merciful." (28)
